PA flintlock late season flintlock hunters

I agree 100 percent with you Eric. That's partly why I started doing more videos, hoping to show what a flint can do when you treat them right, and go about the remainder of the year continuing to shoot. Plus there was not much content or there. As we all know, it doesn't matter how much you...

    Your opinions on Kashtuk fowlers...

I contacted Hendrie Javier years ago, I got acquainted with him on FB because he was big on building primitive board bows and so on. Back when I was into that before I realized there's something lacking in my life called a flintlock haha. He really started putting guns together a few years later...

    Trade Gun rabbit

Just a standard load so it's not as tight of a pattern with that method. I won't load a skychief load for rabbits.

    Trade Gun rabbit

In response to several questions here, it is a NW Trade Gun kit from Pecatonica. I went with a 3' Rice 20 ga. Opposed to the L&R Queen Anne lock, I asked for a Chambers Virginia, that lock is awesome, so well built, fast and sparks like crazy. I have a YouTube video on the build. Look up my...

    Trade Gun rabbit

I took a walk this afternoon for squirrels and couldn't find one. So I started kicking brush piles. Seems stupid since I have 2 good rabbit dogs at home in their kennels. Anyhow, I kicked up 2. The first one ran a short spell and stopped so I blasted where I last saw it. Dead rabbit! As far as...

Working from a log, first attempt

I'm going to guess being cut so small before drying, and the nature of cherry they twisted to heck and checked. I cut gunstocks got a couple years ago at Alferfer lumber and we always cut them at 11 or 12/4 and like any slab, air dry 9 months to a year then kiln dry. Then you can cut them to a...

    Pa.Flinty only season?

I ran 2 hrs north on Monday since it's one of the 2 places I have a doe tag for. It was 5 degrees and a fresh dusting of snow ontop of crust when I started out at day break. It was awesome. It was where I hunted this fall and shot a doe. I honestly was hoping just to see a deer.. Oh. My. Word...

    Lets see those Range Boxes!!

I cut a cherry down at the farm in 2019. I sawed it and kiln dried it after work since I was working at my in-laws saw mill. I built my daughter a dresser with it was the reason for all that, but I used three extra and built my box. It's nothing fancy. The deer tine keeps the drawer from coming...

I’m getting to easy on these deer.

I hear you but I'm not there yet. I'm 32 years old, have 65 Pennsylvania deer under my belt since October 23 2002, (I know this because I have all of them written down) and I shoot everyone I see that gives me an opportunity unless it's a fawn/small deer. Somtimes they even get it.
