    Yes it's new, thank you for the complements. This thanksgiving weekend was it's first time in the woods. My first time shooting a flintlock at an animal too. We are learning together lol.

    Same here, one shot with schuetzen 3f and the polished pan is covered and it wont wipe out with a dry cloth. When I'm hunting I just make sure the vent is clear and let it ride. I'm new and don't have experience with any other powders.

    Thanks y'all, The rifle is one of Mr. Kiblers fine SMR's in .32 caliber. Shooting 20 grns of fff it cracks pretty loud and echo's back off the mountains.

    I was having a hard time seeing my sights as usual and missed some easy shots. Readers helped to see the sights but blurred the squirrels so bad I put them up. So I painted the front sight white and the rear black and it helped A LOT! I went 3 for 4 yesterday.

    Search "how to clean patent breech" I'd quit swabbing between shots too. Unless you do it right your just packing that crud down into the breech between your powder and cap.

    Your flash channel is dirty. You probably have a patent breech too so they are harder to clean. If it has a cleanout screw opposite the nipple take it and the nipple out and feed a small pipe cleaner through there.

    I hunted with a Crockett last year and had a ball! Built a Kibler in the off season and can't wait to try it out. I'm going to take my Pietta/Colt 1860 along too.
