Because others use EDIT to be dishonest. Like, I make an argument, then you respond. I then edit my original post. Pretty dishonest, no?

HACKSAW??? And gun in the same sentence??? That's like a cop showing up and smacking the **** victim straight in the chops.

Ain't dry-balled in 2 decades, but I got to talkin' with other hairy people last year, an' I forgot to load. Remembered to prime.

No. Just fargin' no. There is no way on God's green Earth that you can tell me you thought you fired your piece because you heard a report. YOU are looking over the sights. YOU feel no recoil, observe no smoke obscuring your direct 12... are you a Liberal? FARK NO!

Sounds like a half-ice swab to me. Never really got to like half-ice. Reminds me of government.
  6. DementedMindOfJac

Do you adjust your load or POA for distance?

Okay, no. I adjust the eye-piece on my tang-mounted peep-sight, but I get where you're at. When I was a nipper, barely half again as tall as a '47 Walker I heard terms like "hold fine," "hold half, " "hold full" or "hold over." That refers to the way a man pictures an Englisher Khaki through the...

DAY-UM! That's a lot of shooting for a frontstuffer. Light 'nuff to see until too dark to see if you figure in socializing with the other hairy people. I like you.

If it's so dangerous to blow in the barrel, can any pearl-clutcher walk me through the proper way to use a borescope?

That's not nice. Not everyone is as fortunate as you to not need the "open other end" sign on the bottom of the Coke bottle or the 'STOP' on the top of a stepladder.

The only other available orifice will most certainly cause a flash if there's the slightest ember.

    Opinions sought triple barrel

Never said it's a bad idea.

Yup. I swab for the same reason. However, I see no problem with blowing as regards safety. Anyone hoisting a 8-ish lbs smokepole should be able to tell a) from recoil that the weapon is discharged, and b) reinforce that with a visible cloud of smoke and report, and 3) from advanced mathematical...

    Opinions sought triple barrel

I just can't figure why. I'm not trying to be a Richard, but it seems like hail of a lot of expense and energy to build something that a H&R Handi-rifle is an upgrade to.

I have. And I had to go home as I didn't have a rod with me. I still have hard feelings over Wolf 308 steel case.

    Opinions sought triple barrel

I think your biggest problem will be to get the barrels to converge at a specific range. The ascetics are easy to fix by sticking a ramrod right twixt the .50 and .62. Multi-barrel systems are generally in the same caliber and are intended to provide either a fast follow-up shot/s or a volley...

At the risk of reviving an old canard, there are blowers and there are swabbers. I have had folks tell me not to swab between every shot. However, I think I have enough variables to deal with without having to add fouling, 'specially if the mark is a tiny spot in the rear peep.

    Muzzle velocity Hawken vs Longrifle

Yeah, I'm a bit younger but I got blowded up in ******* Land, so I don't hunt anymore. Cold locks up my joints. I packed in shooting officially last week until end April, early May.

No. What happened is I prime the pistol/rifle as the last step before firing. There is no way I can see for powder to flash after a swab. Not even if you're packing a coastal gun.

    To the older guys…

Nope. I have decided to live for ever even if it kills me.

    Muzzle velocity Hawken vs Longrifle

A friend of mine who's passed now did a lot of R&D on barrels, coatings and linings, among other things. One of the things he was telling me about just before he passed was about smoothbore high velocity barrels where only the last 2 1/2" to the crown was rifled. I don't know enough and I can't...
