    Another name for #40 drill?

To measure cloth you need a micrometer and turn the barrel to compress the cloth. Calipers will not work.

    Unclogging a Lee bottom pour

Best is a ladle anyway. I made a tapered brass rod and plugged mine from inside, best thing I ever did.

That new spring was made for a jack stand for changing brakes. Like said, use the old one.

    replacement for TC bore butter

I have tested all lubes and bore butter was bad for any groups. Home made stuff put it to shame. Plus when cold out I had to run the tube over with my truck to get any out. Nasty junk.

    “Dry ball”

My friend in town told another friend he never dry balled, well the next time he came to shoot he did it twice and nobody was talking to him at the time. I have a good puller so it was easy to remove the balls. If you shoot a front stuffer, it is going to happen sooner or later. I did it deer...

need help with 58 minie bullet mold

You want a push fit to a Minie. Not a drop in. A friend had one and could not hit a barn wall if shot inside one. I lapped the mold for a push fit and then he could hit a 200 yard steel swinger. Seems it took a long time for the ball to reach 200, funny as all get out

    I have a Problem

Just goes to show why anti seize is needed on nipples.

    Rust protection.

LPS 3 is the best I found. In the bore and outside. Dries to a wax coating that is soft and easy to wipe out. One dry patch is all I need.

    Grains by weight or volume???

I tested with hundreds of shots long ago. I weighed charges and tested against my powder measure. In every case the charges thrown with the measure were more accurate.

    36 caliber deer hunting

I get a laugh about a .22 LR being a deer killer with other then a head shot. I have a pile of .22 bullets recovered from healthy deer I have killed. I also have many pieces of arrows with healed up deer. So many I am afraid to reach into deer cavities without checking.

    TRU-OIL problem

I do it differently although finger application is also used. I find thin coats will give me rub throughs when dulling it out. I use a touch up spray gun, small thing, thin the tru oil and spay a thin coat, let dry until tacky and spray again and again letting it get tacky between, 5 or 6 coats...

Info please with cocking effort on Hawken percussion lock

Sorry, I did not read right. I see the cap metal is being punched, what I get is the covering over the priming compound.. I would change the nipple.

Some caps will do that and I get it too. I just pick it out.

What has more effect on POI, muzzle velocity or recoil.

The video is funny as the barrel must weigh 50#. Pressure test equipment?

cast my first bullet ever, critiques?

Remember that pure led will not frost. I cast pure at the 800 setting on the Lee pot, mold needs to be 500 degrees to start.

    .36 Colt Navy that powerful??????

My friend was actually a good shot but thinking about it, maybe his choice of bullets was off too. Too quick expansion.. Bigger is better but even then bullet choice is important. Not much can be done with a small, slow, pure lead one.
