Sighted in 2 Traditions PA pellet 50 cal flintlocks. Both shot about 10 inches high at 50 yards with the rear sight all the way down. They hang fired most of the time even with a 10 gr. starter charge of 3f black. Makes me appreciate my Kibler SMR.

    Kibler is on the way

My Colonial arrived day before yesterday. I had to wait a little longer for the extra fancy wood. That's OK because I needed to recover from my heart surgery a month ago. I'm doing well.

    Kibler Colonial Shipped Today!

Lori emailed yesterday; my rifled 58 colonial is ready to ship. The extra fancy maple took a little longer to obtain. I thought about picking it up as they are only about an hour away. The cost of gas or the shipping would be about the same. I did enjoy their open house.

    Carrying pre lubed patches

I've used diabetic test strip containers for carrying premeasured powder charges, patches, ball shot or wads. They are fairly airtight and use up about two per month I have accumulated quite a few over the years. They also can be marked with a sharpy. Not HC but convient.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

I've been catching up on with what's been going on the forum. I've been away from the computer for about week recovering from heart surgery. I'm not to lift over 5 lbs. for a month, this will limit my shop time, so I will be spending more time on the ML forum .

    Hello from Western Pennsylvania.

Welcome from New Castle also. I shoot at Castlewood on most Sundays but will not be able to for about 6 weeks due to bypass surgery. Hope to meet up some time.

Just got back from Jim's open house. It was a beautiful day. Enjoyed his shop tour. I found out my colonial will be another month out. This will OK as I have heart surgery in a couple of weeks so i couldn't work on it for a while any way.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

This morning I cast up a couple pounds of 570 rb for my anticipated kibler kit I ordered in March. Maybe it will be ready when Jim has his open house in a couple of weeks. I'm only about an hour from there.

Shot the Kibler SMR 45. Nice sunny day at the range. Lots of people shooting sporting clays with unmentionables. I had the rifle range to myself.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

I just sent my order for a Kibler 58 Colonial. Now the waiting begins. I shot my 45 SMR on Wednesday. It had still been loaded since the close of PA late deer season. It fired without any problems.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Cast about 50 .350 Cal. round balls from the mold I bought yesterday. Mould marked 355, maybe I'm casting too hot. It's OK they will still work in my 36 flintlock.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

I went to a local small muzzleloader shop new Butler PA. Cooperstown Trading. I was able to buy real black powder, some cast 69 cal. round balls, and a Green Mountain .355 round ball mold. I had a good time finding a new shop to look around in. Next time I am in Butler will go back.
