What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

I cast up about 3 lbs of Lee's 58 cal real bullets. I also repaired the hollow base plug to my 570 gr. minie mold. I ladle cast these out of a 4 lb Lee melter. I only keep soft lead in this one.

    Question for alloy/casting experts

Could be linotype metal. Great for unmentionable rifle cast bullets. Try to trade it for pure lead or something very soft such as sheet lead, roof flashing, or lead water pipe.

    What did you do today

Put a dozen or so rounds through the Kibler 45. No misfires, one hang fire near the end of the session. Still using the original flint. Groups a little tighter with the 60 grain load. Shoots a little low at 50 yards, I will fix that after I am happy with the load. Had a great day at the range.

    What did you do today

Took my Kibler 45 SMR to the range for the first time. Lock worked great, lots of sparks. Second shot had two pan flashes. I pushed too much damp fowling by the touchhole, I used a paperclip for a vent pick and it fired every time after that. It was a fun morning.

Disassembled my Kibler SMR kit. Sanded with 150 grit. Also put another coat of browning on the buttplate. It's coming along.
