    Before you go to extreme measures soak it good with penetration oil for a few days and try walking it out with an ice pick and a small hammer. Light taps, be gentle with it. I have got a lot of broken bolts out like this.

    Hey Andy, I actually tried to forge a small meteorite into a blade years ago. It did not go well, It just fell apart, not much carbon content and mostly slag. Would have been cool if I could have pulled it off.

    slotting barrel tenons

    I tried a jewelers saw and needle files, not much luck with ether. what I found that does works is a drill or dremel with a 1/16 drill bit. Gently run it and back and forth with light pressure on the left and right side of the hole. Does not take much, about .008 to .010 on each side.

    Make you two 2x4 V blocks like this. Chalk them up good and clamp in a good vice. Works for me, I hope you don't have a Rice barrel.
