In the boot, tucked in a belt or in a pocket. Holsters were fairly common for these and Packing Iron shows a few.

Paints for camp fixtures and furniture?

I painted a ground cloth for my tent and a haversack with a brick red latex paint mixed 50/50 with water and it turned out great. One coat and it remains flexible. I have a chest and a chair painted with a correct shade blue latex (chair with black painted on and wiped off). I also did a...

    UK Park Rifle

Greenswald clicking on your photo link above I don't see anything that agrees with the numbers in your post, rather it seems to be a 38D. :)

    Boot Pistols?

Dueling was pretty much passe, even outlawed, by the time these came along. They were general use pistols for hunting and defense with some being made as target guns. Reliable and simple to manufacturer and maintain they were quite popular in the northeast.

Did military blunderbusses use buckshot paper cartridges?

"Also, this blunderbuss has a slight duckbill muzzle, which implies that it was intended to use buckshot." Not to question your assumption but I do wonder how you arrived at it.

Euroarms/ Armi San Palo (GDG). Very good condition, could be unfired. It has a crisp trigger with no creep and locks up tight. XXX date code = 1974. Mirror bore. I got this with another revolver and I don't need it as I have 5 other '58s. I did take the nipples out and reinstalled them...

Ruggle Patent Underhammer by Rod Olsen

Anything any single shot percussion pistol would be used for. Some were made for precision shooting and were suited for that as there is nothing in the sighting plane.

Interest in Heavy Bench/Slug ML rifles

If you post ads for them you'll find out soon enough if there is any interest. From what I've seen on this and other forums posts like this don't get much for useful replies.

Model 1865 Maynard Sporting rifle... Cartridge?

Plastic and brass cases are readily available for the .50 Maynard but that is of little help. I Looked at Buffalo Arms' site and found the following: https://www.buffaloarms.com/40-40-maynard-percussion-1863-4040mayperc.html You might call them and see if they can help, I've found them to...

Model 1865 Maynard Sporting rifle... Cartridge?

The brass would still have the very large rim similar to the .50 carbine round for extraction. I have a friend, engineer & machinist, who turned a base sleeve with rim that he slipped over the converted cases that he was using for a cartridge Maynard and soldered them in place. This was a...

    Permadex Anti-Sieze

Over the years I've used different kinds of lube on the nipple threads and all worked. I clean my revolver cylinders underwater in a hot soapy solution without removing the nipples. I have gone as long as 2 years of extensive shooting without removing them and have never had any problems...

    .44 Revolvers, Largest Chambers' Diameter

Charlie Hahn has reamed a number of cylinders, 9 maybe more, for me. They are .456" for .457" balls and I cut a new 11 deg. forcing cone. He reamed the Remingtons all the way down and the Colts to just above the locking notches. Charlie will ream the chamber to the depth you request without...
