Anyone else chomping at the bit for the Kibler smoothbore?

Get the 20 gauge, it will have a thicker barrel than the 16 gauge as Jim has said both will be the same outside diameter.

NAA percussion pistol, the full cap and ball experience in a small package!

Chainfires Can be “exciting”. I had on in a ‘51 navy in a cowboy match once. It hit the end of the wedge on the fight side and then hit a pistol target so I didn’t get called for a miss! A good lube over the ball can help but on a hot day and a few shots the lube can melt away if it isn’t...

NAA percussion pistol, the full cap and ball experience in a small package!

I found the same thing which is another reason to use 3f! I will try the CCI 11’s if I find some. Thanks for the tip!

NAA percussion pistol, the full cap and ball experience in a small package!

This is the Super Companion model. I think some of the failure to set off the cap is because the CCI caps are a smaller diameter than the Remington. I tried splitting the skirt of the caps and this helped some. Magnum caps, with more priming compound might also help.

NAA percussion pistol, the full cap and ball experience in a small package!

I have shot a lot of percussion pistols, I owned 6 at one time and used all 6 to shoot a “Josey Wales” category at an all black powder Cowboy shoot a few times. This video is my time shooting this little gun. From a few caps not firing with the first strike to a cap jam and the grin on my...

Iron Nitrate assistance - Woodsrunner Kit

That looks like the first coat I did on mine. I did another two applications and heat cycles and my Woodsrunner came out a bit too dark. Try the alcohol tip and if you want darker do another application.

Pecatonica NW Trade Gun Build Help

I am not the expert but I can share what I have learned so far working with a Petaconica build. 1. Check the ramrod hole, make sure it is centered and drilled full depth. You will need to sand the ramrod to a smaller diameter to fit. 2. Finish inletting the barrel and tang. 3. Finish inletting...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Worked on inletting the trigger guard and trigger plate. This guard is on the small side, but it isn’t a big gun and I am using a single trigger.

    Woodsrunner in Extra Fancy Maple

Don’t do it! Two reasons. 1. If you do this you will love the building process and love the rifle. This will make you want the upcoming fowler. 2. Every single order they get increases the time before I can get the fowler I want! My Woodsrunner was not extra fancy maple so I will spare you...

    Why .40 cal?

My fingers struggle with the .40 on some days. I would lose more .32 balls than I shot!

    Brass triggerguard time

The brass prep work on my Woodsrunner took longer than the rest of assembly combined! This is because the wood/metal fit on this kit is so good because the brass in this kit was the best I have worked with. The brass for the gun I am working on now (not a Kibler) is taking even longer because...

    Sling Ideas for Trade Gun

I agree. A tether style sling with loops at each end that works on guns without swivels. Just think of a lasso, a loop with the rope passed back through to form a loop that tightens down on itself.

    FF in a six gun

It works! I preferred it for Cowboy Action Shooting in .36 and .44 Colts, more smoke and flame, especially for night shoots!

    Indian fry bread tacos

I taught on the Navajo reservation for ten years 85-95. We used to have these i the cafeteria and for fund raisers along with mutton stew and occasional sheep butchering and cookout. Good memories!
