    Advice on getting started crafting.

My advice.......pick easy projects for starters, review pics and methods and just do it. When I first started playing and singing bluegrass you could hear the whispers in the crowds from critics , but some of the best advice I ever got was from a seasoned player and singer that went like...

    Now ain't that cute

Picked this old .32 TC Cherokee up years ago as kind of a bucket gun. It was missing screws, barrel wedge, front blade sight and had several stripped holes in the wood. With a little TLC and time I've replaced screws, made a wedge and repaired stripped holes in the wood. It's the shortest BP...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Glued some toothpicks into stripped out screw holes that that retain the escutcheons where the barrel wedge goes through on my old 32 cal. Cherokee. I most always shoot flintlocks but it's time to tune this ole girl in.

Looks great. I keep seeing some great examples of scrimshaw on here and I'm feeling inclined to try my hand at it again. 👍

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

I cut up a nice chunk of Ash that I was able to get 3 hawk blocks out. Since a block is not much good without a tripod I fashioned one of those as well.

    Thinking outside of the box

This may have been done before but it works great. Having a stuck ramrod yesterday and no puller designed to pull it, 38 years in the piping industry kicked in........why not use the block from a flaring tool? Pick the proper size on the block, snug it up, give it a tug and wala, rod removed. No...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Great day in the 50's today, so I dirtied up the old .40 cal flinter with about 30 rounds.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

After all the fridged temps followed by a lot of rain, I finally out and burned some powder.

Large volume water storage at events

Just curious what you folks use for large volume water storage at events and still stay HC/PC correct.

    Using whatcha got

To me part of the fun of this hobby is doing for myself with what I've got. The early frontiersman didn't have big box stores to buy what they needed, so they used what was available. With that mindset it's amazing how many useful items you can create by going thru your barn or garage and being...

    January Postal Match Target

Nice shooting. No argument here on smoothbore accuracy. My problem with any weapon is the human element that I impart upon it. 😁

    January Postal Match Target

You bet! No expectations of high scores I just do my best and enjoy putting lead down range.
