What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

I picked it up at hobby lobby. They have a good selection of strap material.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Made a small shooting bag today approximately 7x7 with a small pocket I'm a fan of smaller bags as they prohibit me from carrying way more stuff than I actually need. Tomorrow I'll give it a good coat of beeswax and it will be good to go.

October 30 is National Candy Corn Day!

I can relate to the scores and shot placement statement. Sometimes it looks like I was standing up in a canoe trying to shoot. Definitely not the weapon.......it's all me🥴

Shot the NW Trade gun today. It's beautiful here in S.E Indiana and a joy to be in the woods on my range.

    Tent makers still in business?

Look at FC Sutler. No bell backs but plenty of wedges, wall tents and other styles. I've read good things about their products.

    Addiction recovery ?

I'm slowly learning that poor shooting is a cure for more buying. Speaking for myself, I'm gonna commit more time learning to shoot the guns I have well and do less building and buying. A gun , no matter what it is, is only as good as the shooter and the more and different guns one shoots, makes...

    Loading from the pouch?

All good advice above. Once you get a system that works for you, through repetition it will become second nature to shoot from the bag.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Realized earlier today that I was nearly out of .40 cal. balls so this evening I ran a little over 100 of them. The plan is to thin out the 100 tomorrow on my range doing some tuning on my old .40

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

After replacing ball joints on my truck, I tapered a dowel and twisted up a couple tow worms. I've discovered that a tapered dowel makes for a lot better worm than one that is parallel. I used the wire from utility flag markers as it is somewhat hardend and gives sufficient spring to grab and...

Looks like a great time and a great site for camp. I had every intention of being there but my wife's 90 yr old dad had medical issues. Family first but hopefully I'll make next springs event.

    Trade gun for grizzlies

I figure I'd have better than average chance of out running the beast. I'm not young or fast but while he was busy slipping, sliding and trying to get traction in what once was in my bowels I think I could outrun him. Even if he did catch up to me, the smell would turn him away........bears have...

Raw wool instead of flax tow

Absolutely. After reading all the posts I'm gonna give it a try and see what happens. Sometimes trial and error are the best teachers. If it works..... awesome, if it don't I'll chalk it up to a learning experience.
