    FLAT POWER HORNS

Great horns. I love the looks of the flat horns and have tried to make a couple........both were failures. In both attempts I failed to get them hot enough. I'll try to get one right again in the future.

I like a smoothy in heavy foliage but will switch to my .32 when the trees thin a bit. No matter how you do it, its all fun with a front stuffer.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Thank you. Its a Sitting Fox kit. There was a lot of wood work but it came together really well. The lock was mostly inlet but the pan location put the touch hole exactly 1/8" off the face of the breech plug......really good fit up on their part. All in all Im pleased with their kits.

Tomorrow she burns powder. I've got a couple items to address but for the most part the NW Trade gun is done. I was going for an aged patina look and I think I got it. Im no gun builder but will do all I ask of it.

Inlayed and mount the butt plate on my NW trade gun. I then assembled everything to check fit and function before sanding. Still have to brown the barrel and some parts as well.

Its pretty grungy looking from all the soot then handling it but the barrel is now pinned, trigger mounted, lock and serpent plated are mounted and I cut the stock off as well. After I pinned everything I pulled it up to my shoulder and found the length of pull was to long for me. I cut an 1...

Drilled the tang bolt thru and tapped the tang on my NW Trade gun build. Also more shaping, trigger guard fitting and soldered the lugs on my barrel. A long way to go but slow and steady wins the race.

    Miles to go

Early this week I finally got started on a NW Trade gun kit I ordered from Sitting Fox. So far Ive got the barrel, tang, trigger and lock inlet. That may not sound like much but these are definitely not plug and play kits, but a true challenge if you wanna do it right. It looks like lots of wood...

    SQUIRREL HUNTING RIG

This Charleville is one of my favorites during early season when the foliage is heavy. With a load of 4's or 5's she'll get it done.

    Non-shooting camp games ideas?

Take a look at some of the Scottish games like the caper toss ETC. Most of these games take skill and brute strength but can be skilled back so that every one could play and enjoy.

    "Primitive" shooting at NMLRA

Ive been to f ship many times and have often wondered why they schedule a national shoot at the same time as that mess of a flea market that peddles nothing but crap. The traffic is horrible and I ve heard that the traditional venders benefit very little from people that go to the flea markets...
