    The ideal smoothbore hunting bag??

This is mine! I have shot and powder in premature watertight tubes with wadding and overshot cards together in small ziplock. There’s a pocket inside that holds essential tools, capper and supply of caps. When chasing Snipes they are always around the wet areas and a lot of them once flushed go...

    TSS in smoothbores

Ballistic Products has a great wad for using the harder shot of today. It’s called their TPS and you can also get Mylar wraps to create more security. They make these in 10, 12, 20, 28 and .410 guage. Hope this helps, Reds

    TSS in smoothbores

I only use plastic wads of varying manufacturers in my TC New Englander, TC Tree Hawk and Pedersoli 12 sxs and have never had wads melting issues. I do use a nitro card”over powder” card and the wad sits atop it! I would not use TSS through a choked barrel though. I have never used TSS in my...

    Rabbit hunting and gear

I started my Grandkids boy and girl at about 6years old with the RR. It’s a great starter because of the features mentioned plus with that spring operated system it produces a little recoil or kick. Just enough so they feel it when pulling the trigger. They both have started going all the time...

    Thoughts when buying a gun

A few back my Son had taken a load of gear across 20 so yards of canal with a beam 20+ mph wind, the perfect duck morning to use my 1500 dollar Brand New unmentionable. He came back to get me as we were hunting in one of South Floridas “paddle in only” areas. When he pushed off with his oar it...

    Rabbit hunting and gear

He Trigger, a great gun for that little girl to start is the ole RedRyder. It’s very light and you can dry fire it without hurting it. It will be her first Practice Muzzleloader!

    Rabbit hunting and gear

Here is a pic of my Grandad and two of his beagles from many many years ago. This is right beside Andrew’s AFB in Maryland. All we did was rabbit hunted with a covey of quail here and there. If you shot a rabbit on the jump or sitting before his dogs got to do there thing he would plant his foot...

    Rabbit hunting and gear

After gutting we always hung ours in the shade on tree limbs stuck like mentioned above through the back leg tendon. After the days hunt we would go back and collect them. The main reason was the rabbit cooled very quickly so it didn’t get musky from all the heat in the game bag. Also as the...

    Trying to lighten the cookware

My son and I have been hunting elk out of the same base camp for the last 12 years. We backpack in and it usually takes us about 6 hours from the truck to reach our site. Since the first year we have left all our cooking items buried in a deep hole under a large Christmas Tree. Everything is...

    T C Patriot

FYI, the screws were 4/40s and was able to locate them at my local gunsmith guy. These have an Allen head on them that is wider than the original giving more coverage. Height of head is very close to original and I bet these will never break. Thanks to everyone that helped out and remember 4/40...

Why no black powder hunting personalities

I agree with Snakebit, those shows have ruined hunting. Before all their fictitious hupla you hardly ever saw No Trespassing Signs! On Lake Okeechobee here in Fl you may have heard a few airboats on opening day of duck now because of shows like the duck commander it’s hard to find a spot with no...
