My first Enfield or military style long Gun

From those pics, to me it looks like a liner and 3 grooves. Common for 2-band N-SSA Artillary rifles. But there are others on here who know much more than me. I'll bet that will be a great shooter.

My first Enfield or military style long Gun

Which Rapine are you using Dave, a Hodgdon, wadcutter, or traditional minie?

My first Enfield or military style long Gun

Just keep it wiped down and oiled. Also, when you remove the barrel, apply some wax to the underside of the barrel and stock that it rests in. Prevents rust from potential moisture getting in there. Easy to maintain with little effort. Enjoy!

My first Enfield or military style long Gun

Just unfinished (i.e., not blued and lock not case hardened). The term used is Armory Bright. That's how the Springfields were produced. Beautiful gun! Nice score.

What originally came in the box with a brand new Ruger old army in 1973

Hand cannon for sure. Grab a Howell conversion cylinder and shoot 45LC with it too. A lot of fun.

    Stock ID for Enfield P58

It's possible it's an Italian stock, but the barrel and lock are British. I've owned a few P-H and know the proof markings and dating.

    Stock ID for Enfield P58

I've got a Birmingham-barrel Parker-Hale P58 from 1988. But I'm unclear about the stock as it lacks the P-H cartouche. It has the letters JS stamped inside the lock area as shown in the photo. Anyone know what kind of stock this is and what the JS means? Thanks! Tim

Parker Hale Enfield vs Euroarms Enfield

Did you ever get information about the lack of cartouche? I've got a Birmingham P58 (all barrel and lock markings correct) set up for skirmishing in N-SSA but without a stock cartouche.

    Help! with cleaning my musket

Fun to read all the cleaning methods. I'm in the category of keep it simple. Tight fitting jag and patches are a must to me. I use Windex to clean. One wet patch, a couple of dry, repeat, then a patch with CLP to lube once clean. Use this method both in the field and at home. No rust issues, and...
