    Traditions crocket CVA lock

I agree, or at least the ones I have had. I really didn’t like the traditions one at all if I’m being honest. I changed springs and polished and cleaned and it still didn’t feel as nice as the old cva but that’s just me

    Traditions crocket CVA lock

Thanks! And it was a factory gun that i completely stripped bare and started over. I filed off all them ugly laser lettering, browned antiqued it and made it look used. I really like these little guns, they can definitely be made different if you put a little time into them

    Traditions crocket CVA lock

It really was, just a little dremel work probably took my 20 minutes. And yes I know you like the crockets, some of your comments on them helped convince me to get another one. It was the first muzzleloader I had but sold it, had to get another

FOR SALE Zoli .58 caliber Buffalo Hunter

If it is the 1:48, which I would have to say it could be bc it is the Buffalo hunter this gun is the real deal. Friend I hunt with has one, got it for bear but has been shooting deer with it and with I think it’s around 500+ grain bullet there is no tracking that’s for sure. Wonderful gun and it...

    Traditions crocket CVA lock

it’s no big Secret that traditions and CVA parts are usually pretty close. If you mess with enough muzzleloaders you will end up with one of the older CVA percussion locks if not they are easy enough to find. I must say for a Production lock they can be tuned pretty good and parts are easy to...

Who Hunts Reg Seasons With Their Muzzleloader?

I feel like I’m cheating anymore with modern stuff though I know I’m not bc hunting where we hunt gets a lot of pressure. But shooting deer and other game with recurve or a muzzleloader is just more enjoyable. I converted a .54 cva mountain rifle from percussion to flint for this year in rifle...

OK, so it may not be HC correct.......

I love building guns from left over parts! Here is my historicly correct pistol 🤣 it was a Roched barrel that I soaked for three days, I’m pretty sure someone used it to practice etching in.. some other parts and some string and we got a gun. I didn’t expect much but it shoots gallon jugs at 30...

    Virginia smooth rifle

I remember an interesting conversation I had with the original owner of Dixon muzzleloaders, his name slips me I didn’t know him long before I moved but every time I was there he taught me a lot and we talked about God and guns BUT to get back on track, he said to me that many of the original...

Range Test of My GRF 20ga. SB with a .572" RB

This has started some fun shooting! Well I finally did do some shooting with the plastic wads out of my .70 but instead of shooting a .690 or even a .610 I wanted to go even smaller… I wanted to shoot some .530 with success. Well I got it dialed in and really the only thing I had to figure was...

Range Test of My GRF 20ga. SB with a .572" RB

Nice write up! I too have been experimenting with going smaller in the 70 caliber trade gun, but I’m trying to get down to 54 caliber round ball. Experimenting with plastic shotgun wad and a patch. Haven’t shot it yet till I get a couple more ideas so I can test em all out. Some people don’t...
