    Only one muzzle loading rifle

I'm sure this has been done to death but here we go anyway. If you could have only one muzzle loading rifle what would it be? Include maker, percusion or flintlock, why that rifle and things like that. Smooth bore is ok but this is more about rifles.

Just sharing a trick I learned

My girlfriend has those rope lights all around the pool and pool side table but hers run off of solar power. Neat little lights.

    Why Kibler

So are all the parts high quality. Let's say the locks on a flintlock. Will his be top end or do I need to look farther?

    Why Kibler

I'm am far from an expert on bp as I just tinker with it for awhile then go do something else then come back and piddle for awhile then go find something else then come back and over and over. In the past when asked by a poster to recommend something there was a small list of recommendations...

    Traditions

Since we are talking traditions kits let me ask. Are they basically just finish the stock with stain and polish the furniture and bolt it together? Why do I want to pay $650 for a mountain flintlock? Will it last me for years if I shoot it often?

What's the steel? Is that a Nesssmuk pattern? Flat grind or full flat grind? Full tang? How much and where?

    Militia officers

I do not know anything about them but I am guessing that since it is militia that every unit was different and they acted according to their training back home which could be different training than even the county next door. Also if attached to a regular arm unit they would be directed as that...

    flintlock hawkin

Very nice but I want it in flintlock.

    flintlock hawkin

So I am watching a YouTube video and the maker of this rifle says it's an early flintlock hawkens with full stock. So hawkens made full length flintlock but no plains rifles with flintlock?

    Has anyone else noticed…

I think it's do to all the new survivalist and bushcrafters that are out there nowadays. They want simple and reliable and something that you don't have to rely on a factory to make so they learn the formula to bp and learn how to search for flints and now they have a rifle that they can survive...

    Traditions

I like them. There is no way I would put tacks into a $1500 curly maple rifle but you found something at a price point where you can. Smart and fun. Now go shoot them and work up a load. Is that just simple furniture tacks?
  17. bobthemotorcycle

    flintlock hawkin

close but not curly maple but a very good start. thank you for the time.
  18. bobthemotorcycle

    flintlock hawkin

yes I know that Hawkins did not make a flintlock plains rifle or whatever the traditional Hawkins was. I want a Pedersoli Missouri River Hawkin in .50 and maple but I want it in flintlock. does anybody make a kit like this? Is there any pictures of one? Is it possible to make without...

    A controversial topic...

a few years back I was driving thru dairy country in upper Wisconsin in late September. it was late afternoon and all the leaves were gold and red and it was about 70 degrees and one of the most beautiful scenes i had ever seen. I told the guy sitting next to me "man I would love to live here...

    A controversial topic...

The other day I told my doctor that I miss being 8 or 9 and getting big bottles of codeine prescribed to me when I had the flu. Guess we all have issues.
