I found a sweet (modern) powder and ball holder for hunting.

Yes those do pair quite nicely with your moccasins!.... hahaha

    October Postal Match target

My Dragoon entry. .457 RB 45(ish) gr Swiss 3fff... powder compressed with the rammer then the ball put on top and rammed home. She drops the loading ram most shots. I shimmed the latch spring and modified the catch but with this load it's just a fact of life. Rapid fire, thigh-gap aim point 😋...

    Black powder or Pyrodex

If you can afford to put gas in your truck and food in your cooler, you Can afford to put real powder in your gun.(!) There's no excuse to shoot anything but the real thing. Buy once-cry once. If you only use your muzzleloader during hunting season you'll never have to buy powder again for as...

A peripheral part of a Kibler Woodsrunner

Sorry, I missed your question.....I used Jax brass brown to get that finish detail. I think i bought it from Kibler with my kits. A little time and use will really complete the look.

    October Postal Match target

Really fun targets Gary! Everyone who saw it just shook there head and laughed. Perfect evening to be shooting my 58 Kolonial. Got excited and hit his bow tie with my last ball on my first try. Calmed down and shot my other bear and managed to send 3 balls into his right eye. 58 Kolonial .570...

    Flintlock Short Rifle Information.

A gent from ALR forum built a very close facsimile of that little rifle. I believe that he even listed it for sale when he was done. Sure looks like a fun rifle!

    Interchangeable cylinders ..

My experience is based on the Remington 58 model, so I'm not sure if it goes across the board to all models but,...Pietta's had a narrow cylinder bolt notch... sometime around 2000 they change to a wider notch. So the new cylinders are not interchangeable with the old guns.

September 2023 Postal Match Target - Let's Go Bowling!

Here's my target, I'm posting it late cuz I lost track of the day, but I shot it...with 58 Kolonial offhand. The target was a lot of fun. Aiming at the neck stripes and trying to hit high was a challenge that cost many points. Hard to pass up on firing all 10 shots at the big ball. I hung fired...

    Another Balistol question

Ballistol is "Water Soluble Oil"....Understand? Napa soluble oil is cheaper,...without the stink for moose milk, cleaning and patch lube. Use actual Oil for storage. CLP BreakFree works nicely,.

Performance difference between Goex & Swiss powder ?

Olde Eynsford, by Goex....is/was better than Swiss,. Eynsford shot cleaner than Swiss, the fouling stayed softer than Swiss, and it was just as energetic. Hopefully this fine powder will return with the Goex line.

    August Postal Match

I like the target Gary, ...was able to see this one quite well. I shot the target a few weeks ago and had hoped to give it another try before the month ended. But the fire danger just got worse, so here is my entry. Thank you Gary, and to all you fine folks that participate in the monthly...

Into the Wild Frontier on The Inspirational channel.

The clean buckskins were because they didn't use many actual actors, or costume designers, but instead used local mountain man club buckskinners (who care about their valuable buckskins and don't soil them much during monthly shoots). Most of the camp scenes were shot right on the Jefferson...

    July Postal Match

Wow there were some great targets posted this month! Nice to see all you new folks in the game! I got the 58 Kolonial out last night. It was a beautiful evening with a light breeze on the Montana mountain. My target from last night was better than the one I shot earlier in the month so that's...
