Carrying a pistol
I do try to carry often and think everyone should. I got paid to do it 30 years, but I am lazy. I have a very small easy to carry unmentionable but in the summer I do it less.- Kmcmichael

New peep sight.
I installed a peep sight on my Woodsrunner. I have not shot it yet. I was unable to see the rear sight or rather which rear sight to use. I installed a new front sight but may have to get something taller. I know it is backwards but I will go with the lowest position at this time. I have used...- Kmcmichael

I FINALLY shot my Woodsrunner for the first time!
Been there. I also had to get a new sight for my Woodsrunner as it was low. It in .54 with .018 patch, mink oil and 100 grains of FF Swiss is the most consistently accurate of my 3 flintlocks. Don’t take anyone’s advice on the perfect load. Your barrel will decide for you. It took several days...- Kmcmichael

I built a walnut kit for a cousin once. I believe that particular stock would have been incapable of coming near a chisel without suffering an unwanted removal of a splinter. I totally agree, but I have a bunch of rifles. And if I did not, I would use buckshot. My question, why would the pressure be different with a round ball as opposed to a shot load of the same weight? Friction? Another question, the .54 Woodsrunner carries great balancing perfectly in the hand...- Kmcmichael

? Yes I understand this. Yet if one shoots the same payload why the pressure worries. I would likely never shoot a round ball. Nevermind the 20. I would feel just as safe with the round ball as I would the same weight shot charge.- Kmcmichael
