Patch lube for round ball shooting..........Lawdy.

I’m fairly new to the sport so these are just my humble observations. I have tried quite a few patch lubes both commercial and otherwise and there is one method that I started with that I think is one of the best for shooting continuously and that is spit for me. It’s easy and like was mentioned...

SOLD Defarbed colt signature series 51 navy!

Here is another little defarb project I completed recently. The gun was stored poorly and had some finish problems and putts on the exterior so I picked it up to defarb it! Condition is as shown and the horrible Sam colt signature was removed from the back strap. Action is very nice on this one...

SOLD 10ga Zoli Zouave cut back and defarbed.

Here is kind of a cool gun for ya guys! This is a Zoli Zouave that is in 10ga. Read somewhere that they made them in 10 and 8ga for the European market?? Either way I had it and decided it was ugly the way it was and decided to shorten it back to a more handy length. I also defarbed or removed...

Help with a broken sear spring.

I wound up making my own spring and it turned out good! My advice is get goog steel to start something high carbon to start. After some tried and failed attempts on some old hacksaw blades I went in the parts bin and found an old mauser leaf spring and this is what I used for the final spring...

    Perfect revolver?

Nice 51! That is a much more appropriate case it is in now! My answer is a 60 army without question. Bigger grip, bigger caliber, best looking, the best cap gun ever! Just my not so humble opinion lol. Ps. Have you shot that 51 yet?

A Man Has to Know His Limitations!

I agree, I wish we (Missouri) would just keep alternate methods limited to muzzleloaders. Like you said if a guy wants all he has to do is build an AR 10 with a 14.5” tube and slap a brace on and bam you have a second rifle season! Also hat part of the state are you in?

SOLD Amazing David Dodds half stock flint Hawken

Here is another great rifle! I bought this a while back and have shot and enjoyed it but as is usual something else has grabbed my attention. This time I’m having a JP Gemmer needle gun built, so this must go. The specs are as follows. This was built by the late David Dodds who is considered...

Removing the barrel on a hooked breech rifle for cleaning, yes or no??

Good stuff! Good insight! Only talking bout hooked breech rifles with wedges not long rifles with small pins.

Removing the barrel on a hooked breech rifle for cleaning, yes or no??

Sort of a small poll here. Those of you that have rifles with hooked breeches straight, slant, etc, do you routinely remove the barrel after shooting for cleaning? Obviously there are two camps, yes I’d do remove the barrel often for cleaning, and no I don’t remove for cleaning. I was recently...
