    Track of the Wolf

I have bought several accessories from Track of the Wolf. They even bought a Mowry, 32 caliber rifle from me. I was quite satisfied with every transaction.

Poor boy triggers. Single or double?

I disagree. I usually get better accuracy, from the same gun, when I use my set trigger. For hunting I rarely use the set trigger. For shooting competition, I usually use the set trigger.

Poor boy triggers. Single or double?

Didn't Andew Jackson have a dueling pistol with a single set trigger? He just pushed the trigger forward to set it.

That looks like a vampire cow. First one I've ever seen.

Investarms Santa Fe .36 Range Update!

I have a Pedersoli, Hawken 45 caliber. I shoot a .445 round ball with .012 cotton patches. The results have been very good. Contrary to what I saw posted earlier, .001 inch can make a df=ifference.

Is there a way to postpone cleaning a ml?

That type of modification has been done in the past. After The American Civil War many Springfield muzzleloaders were converted to Trapdoor cartridge fed rifles. Still, they were black powder guns and had to be cared for accordingly.

I've Searched and Searched but Cannot Find a Scope Base for Frankenstuffer.

You might need to consider having a gunsmith drill and tap a hole to meet your needs.

    How to prep stock.

My great-grandfather was a cabinet maker. (1870-1952). He never used sandpaper, (as told to me by his grandson, my dad). He used glass. He used straight or broken, curved glass to smooth the wood's finish. I have tried his technique and the finalized product is always smoother than any sandpaper.

    Patches cut at muzzle

I disagree. I have a 45 caliber Hawken rifle. I have tested a variety of patch thicknesses and I have learned .012 thickness works best me and my rifle.

    Looks like i got burned

I agree. I work in a gun store and I have customers ask us to get them products. I start with our usual vendors. If I fail to find the product I sometimes look elsewhere. All of our usual vendors did not a a specific gun a customer wanted. An online search found a company that claimed they had...

    1st time shooting a flintlock

If you are left eye dominant and shooting your rifle right-handed your dominant eye will be on the wrong side. What can happen is your right eye will be looking down the rear sight and your naturally dominant left eye can pick up the front sight. You will be a lousy shot. I am right-handed and...

What a time to try this hobby.

Back on the late 1980's or early 1990's there was a primer scarcity. The few available cost a lot. Hopefully we will see them return to somewhat normal price and availability.

What a time to try this hobby.

Years ago, I tried those toy caps in an inline muzzleloader. They did work. I only did it one time. I was just curious back then.

    FOR SALE N.W. Trade Gun

The post said it is a 24 Gauge. By my charts that should equate to a 58 caliber.

    Tent Decision help

Some Rendezvous can be picky about the gear that is used. The ones I have attended want your gear to be period correct. Modern things can be used if they are covered. Sometimes I have the tent flaps open, and anyone can see inside my tent. That is why I covered my modern cot. --- I have never...
