Good eye, it is indeed artificial sinew. Because most of the stitching was going to be exposed, I thought sinew would look better than thread. Thanks for looking.

No mold for this little ball bag, after stitching I wet it thoroughly and filled it with lead shot, tamped it in with a stick to compress the shot, then let it dry overnight. Pretty thin leather, 2/3 oz at most.

It’s a Maine thing! Maine can be pretty nice in mid to late June. But there WILL be bugs! I’m assuming that if not enough people show up they may not do it again. Nitwit should know

    Still cold here in Vermont

Yesterday it was again a windy and cold day. Too cold for the range, and no ice fishing here this year. . So… I decided to continue some leatherwork. I just picked up a nice Crockett .32 caliber percussion gun. Shoots great but it feels strange digging the tiny .310 round balls out of a plastic...

    Crockett rifle

Dylan, I am in the same boat. I just shot my first Crockett after looking at them and lusting over them for years. It’s still winter here in Vermont, so opportunities to shoot are scarce. But I did get it out last week and shot it. Amazing at 25 yards from the bench the first four round balls...
