    Percussion Hammer Cam (Divot)?

Thanks! The Gen 2 Colts I bought the one came in a beautiful box not the boxes that Taylors sell. Like I said they are like rock candy not for eating just for looking at 😂 I watched Josey Wales again last week end; love the Old Chief’s analogy! 200 rounds per range time that is exactly what...

    Percussion Hammer Cam (Divot)?

At one point I purchased a half dozen spring s and buttons, I was going to try my luck with drilling the hole so to set the hand spring tension. I’m sure they will show up when Im dead and get tossed because they have no idea what they are. Maybe those recommendations are paise today. Does not...

    Percussion Hammer Cam (Divot)?

45D and Mike I know you’re are experts with these and was wondering if you know if that cam should be heat treated. I realize they are case hardened but the case hardening IMO doesn’t hold up on any of these critical parts from revolvers to rifles it’s one of the reasons I don’t use them as much...

    1851 Pietta Sheriff’s Model

I purchased a Taylors Pietta 44 cal import about 2 years back. I have not done the typical deburring and polishing. Though it does need especially the hand slot; It’s pretty rough and of all the revolvers I have this is the roughest but it turned well. So I figured I’d shoot it as is less...

Ram rod wont go all the in....im stumped!

Sounds like it’s hitting the forward lock bolt? Tighten it up mark the horizontal on the cap then file a flat spot in the bolt so the ramrod clears. This may have already been said i don’t read entire threads anymore

    How loud?

That’s very nice of you I mean it sincerely. But I think if there are haters out there someone is going to complain. There may also be some one with an illness like autism. They can be very sensitive to loud snappy noise. For me I find the deep sound of a muzzle loader blast less annoying. A 32...

Huge Gun Show; Not a Cap In Sight

Just thought I add If you are in dire need for # 11 cap’s Buffalo Arms had some RWS still in stock. They are quite expensive and are sold as a quantity of 4. 230 dollars includes shipping. Some complaints I found not to be applicable to the rws caps I purchased in the past; in fact I can say i...

    WITHDRAWN 50 Cal. Kilber Colonial

Looks like it’s all there and with some TLC will make it nice. It appears the front site is on backwards that’s a simple fix. It just looks like an old gun. Good luck

    Adding material to existing stock

Incredible and God Bless all that are able to handle all that lumber! That looks like 6 cords probably more? I bought a place in NH in 2018 my first viewing of loads like that being delivered to peoples property. There’s a name for a load like that? Me I burn too but since I’m not there enough I...

    Stuck

Maybe try polishing the barrel with some steel wool or scotch brite. Dualist Den Mike Bellevue has a video on polishing his Pendersoli Charleville.

Shredded Patches – Suggestions on what to do?

Jim didn’t make the powder or the patches; one of those things are the problem. I have not read the entire post. Have you tried commercial powder and other patches? These types of issues can be very frustrating. Good luck!!

    lead bore fouling

I’m not an expert but I believe the higher the velocity increases the risk of fowling. A pure lead bullet is pretty soft. Believe it or not that recipe SDSmif will probably help reduce it. That synthetic 2 stroke oil is some slippery stuff. Amzoil Dominator Two maybe a bit slipperier but the...

Black Powder Banned at my Gun Club!

If I haven’t admitted already I will here. Few months after I had spine surgery I was itching to get out and shoot my Brown Bess with the new paper cartridges I made while on the mend. I had a small low pile carpet revenant under my shooting stand. I generally shoot that flinter standing but I...

Black Powder Banned at my Gun Club!

They may have applied astroturf for the guys who scavenge their brass with one of those sweeping contraptions. Though where I first saw them used at the Sebastian range they worked on concrete and I suspect hard packed dirt. The range i shoot both my flintlocks and metallic cartridge guns is...
