    Coehorn Mortar

I'm just waiting on the historically correct linseed oil paint to arrive, which should be here this weekend. I've never used it before, lays on the same as modern paint, just has a longer drying period. If it stinks too much to pain in the workshop it'll be put on hold until warmer weather where...

    Coehorn Mortar

Finished cutting in the blocks for the coehorn tubes. Fun fact these two tubes are from LaPan, and are sequentially numbered!

    Coehorn Mortar

Starting in on the mortar beds. Cutting out the trench the trunion sits in, a combination of chisel and mallet, drill and router to get them cleaned out. Top left you can see some wood filler as the blocks split (more than I'd have liked, but certainly still serviceable) so I'm filling some...

    Help ID a Naval Cannon

It is brand new to me and haven't shot it yet. So I haven't yet played with loads. NPS calls for a max of 6oz of Cg/Fg, I have a friend of mine that has two and he doesn't shoot that much says there is a good amount of unburnt powder. So eventually I'll be playing with loads and see what gets...

    RevWar 3lb Cannon Progress

Well after seeing @Youngblood post his newly acquired 3 pounder barrel I went ahead and had a great phone conversation with Gillmor. Since have placed an order and deposit for a brass 3 pounder of this same pattern. Sounded optimistic on the delivery timeframe so I'm excited. Until then I have a...

FOR SALE Pair of 1837 Pistols, for sale or trade.

They are .60 caliber. Pics from each bore, the one with the darker ring at the base is not rust, it appears to be a "cosmoline" style grease, at least that's what it reminds me of in smell. Some very light surface rust at the muzzle. Otherwise, darn good looking for 182 years old.

    PayPal anti gun?

Sure is. Have done many gun and gun related transactions on PP, but never have I ever written anything gun or gun related in the comments, etc.
