    When I did my SMR I used two coats of aqua fortis, blushed after each coat, then one coat of permalyn sealer on the exterior with two coats in the inlets, then Tried and True varnish oil.     Kibler Finish Question

    When I assembled my Kibler I used both Permalyn, and Tried an True Varnish Oil. One coat of permalyn on the exterior, and if I'm remembering right, two coats in the inlets. Then I used four coats of the Tried and True on the exterior.

    I bought this one... Pattern Maker's Carving Vise at Grizzly.com If I need to hit stuff while it's in a vise, I use a 4" jaw bench visewith leather pads to protect any necessary surfaces.

    Powder and mice?

    The auto makers have adopted soy based insulation on the wire. It saves them money over petroleum based insulation. The mice find it tasty.
