Who makes a good range rod?

Kibler sells a nice stainless rod complete with a delrin muzzle protector. https://kiblerslongrifles.com/collections/all/products/range-rod?variant=32048832708726

Is Kibler a Sponsor of this site?

The product is excellent. The customer service is excellent. ...and his reply is also. Personally, I'll support his company whether he contributes money to the forum, or not. His contribution to the muzzle loading community is enough for me.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Thanks! I have a pair of 'computer lenses' which have mid range on top, and readers on the bottom. I'm going to try those first. My readers are only good to about 12".

On the Pedersoli site, click on long guns, then click on the model you're interested in. When the page comes up click on the picture of that model, and the specs will appear below. It will list the number of grooves and the rat of twist in mm.

I'm not sure what you're suggesting. When I shoot I'm looking out of the top of my lenses, which is the distance portion. I can't see the front sight. I need to be looking at the midrange portion of the lens to see at 40ish inches.

I don't really want to put a peep on the SMR. The dovetail is too far down the barrel for it to work, and I don't want to mark up the tang, or drill another hole. Besides, my astigmatism makes round things look like a line...it's weird. I'll work it out,

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

I'll let you know. My eyes have issues. Pretty severe astigmatism in both eyes. I'm ok with correction, but my progressive lenses don't allow me to see the sights. I'm going to shoot next with my 'computer glasses'. If I can make out the sights, as long as the target is large enough, I may be...

I have an idea and wonder if it’s been done

The energy on the first two entries is reversed. The heavier gun always has less recoil.

Ordered some different sights for my Kibler SMR on the recommendation of garypl. Maybe I'll be able to see them better.

Finally a Flintlock flush kit that really works

It works fine on my Kibler SMR. The magnet is larger than the liner. Sure, you can knock it off if you're careless, but it doesn't leak

Just took delivery of my rifle case from Kibler. It's made by Unique, and is really pretty nice.
