Molds . . . getting moldy around here.

I checked and I don't have any spare molds of the sizes requested in my horde. Notice I said "spare" but I am getting to the age where I should start thinning down the heard.

Molds . . . getting moldy around here.

Ames I don't recall a 520 mold but when I go out to the shop today I will check my list to be sure. It is odd that I didn't realize I was a mold collector until one day I noticed I had a lot of molds!

Molds . . . getting moldy around here.

OK, so I decided to get most of my molds in one place and make a list. I ended up with a few duplicates mostly 1and two cavity dupes. The one size range I have the most in was 40 caliber.

    Parker-Hale Musketoon Lock Question

Windini A properly built lock will not have a washer in it. Apparently it was installed to try to correct some type of error in manufacturing.

    Parker-Hale Musketoon Lock Question

Windini It would appear your sear pivot hole was drilled at an angle which is cocking the sear arm out from the plate. This could cause multiple problems. I have attached a picture of my lock out of my Birmingham manufactured Parker Hale musketoon. As you can see in the picture there is...

    12L14 barrel comes apart

I have to wonder about a couple of things. You mentioned that the rifle was a full stocked swamped barrel. Check and see if the fracture occurred where the barrel pin lug was dovetailed into the barrel at that point. This is a "no no" for the construction of a swamped barrel in a gun. Just a...

If you were given a TC Hawken barrel, what would you do with it?

Dirigo, Since you are more or less going to go to a practice type of building before you go to your desired $1000 kit I would suggest you go ahead and build up a rifle with the TC barrel. It will give you some practice before you tear into a more expensive kit. There is nothing mechanically...

what a difference 5 grains makes!

Nice little group BUT! Now go back and shoot three targets using five shot groups. Measure the very worse one, that is what you and your rifle can depend on at that given range. NEVER DEPEND ON THREE SHOT GROUPS FOR SHOWING THE POTENTIAL FOR ACCURACY! The cardinal rule for any testing is "Is...

    Preferred Cleaning Patches?

The fabric that I have found that works best is baby diaper material from your local "China Mart". Over the years I have tried many different fabrics and this is what I have found best to get into the rifling grooves.
