    T/C Seneca 36 caliber

I've had a .45 cal Seneca since I bought it new in 1972. A couple of years ago a saw a .36 cal barrel on sail on EBAY and bought it. I love both. Patch cloth from Hobby Lobby is easy and casting your own balls is fun. Bill

flintlock ignition trouble what do you think please help.

I had a similar problem years ago and I solved it by drilling out the vent liner to the next larger drill bit size that I had. Also I sharpened my vent pick so it goes well into the charge in the barrel (over half way). The wider vent hole made my .50 cal flintlock almost self priming (using...

    Anyone else shoot Flintlock?

I've always loved flintlock pistols and rifles. I've got a .45 Cal Kentucky pistol that I built from a kit in high school and a .50 Cal that I bought from Pedersoli in the 1990's and added a single set trigger. I shoot them all the time. Bill

    Cleaning .36 Seneca

You've got a hooked breach for easy removal. Push out the stock pin and pull off the barrel. Then take a bath and bring the barrel with you. You'll both get clean. Bill

    4f priming powder...

I was given a lot of 2F when I was younger. When I started shooting flinters I made my own fine powder by grinding up a little in a small mortar and pestle. Just don't do anything to create a spark. Bill

How do you load your muzzleloader?

I've never had any trouble loading my flintlock rifle holding it between my legs. My problem has been loading my flintlock pistol. I finally gave in years ago and built a loading stand. Bill

    Shooting all by one’s lonesome

I started shooting black powder in Charleston S.C. as a teenager in the late 1960's. There was a lot of activity at multiple ranges. After joining the military I ended up in California, Utah and Georgia. Frequently out west I was the only one shooting my flintlock at a range and usually asked...

    Seneca or other .45

I bought a .45 Seneca in the late early 70's and shot it for years. I was looking though EBay several years ago and found a .36 barrel there for less than $100. There are still good deals out there. Bill
