    I worked on these pieces today. Aqua fortis on the two rifles and some oil sealer on them and a coat of oil on the smoothbore. Rubbed some oil on a bunch or wiping sticks. Getting ready for the seasons hunt!!

    What Brit says might be your issue. On some doubles, if you tighten the lock screw too tight, it draws the locks closer together and the sear bars, which are the part of the lock that protrudes perpendicular from the lock plate crossways through the lock mortise which the trigger puts upward...

    Doing a week long period trip to the Adirondacks for muzz season in a few weeks. Just finished up a new small light shoulder pouch for myself and some belt pouches for my brigade of hunters. Just enough to carry a few small necessaries.

    Best Shot You Ever Had

    My best shot ever was with a Pedersoli 36 cal flintlock Blue Ridge rifle. I was younger and my eyes were very good at the time. I took a squirrel from one knee at 60 yards. I Don’t think I can see a squirrel at that distance anymore.

    2023 Fall Squirrel Season...........

    Hunting Squirrels with dogs/ hounds is different than sitting or stalking them. Hunting them with dogs is a lot of fun!!! Here’s my two. Both mountain Cur. The red one is still young but she is really good. The yellow one, he is the best dog I ever had in my life, and I had lots of dogs!!!!
