    Help! Ramrod End?

Looks good. Try it out at home to see if it works. That way if it needs more of a point you can easily do it. If your out in the woods or on the range you might have a problem.

    Pre ignition

I haven’t seen one, but a friend told me it happened to him while reenacting a battle shooting blanks.

    Help! Ramrod End?

I have the same worm, it was kind of blunt and I couldn’t pick up a patch in the barrel. I filled a slender point on it and now it works well. Hey another thing, when I use tow, I ball it up in my hand to compress it a bit, it seems to go down the barrel as a unit a little better. Enjoy your...

    Help! Ramrod End?

Do yourself a favor and file a point on that worm or you may have a hard time picking up a lost piece of wadding one the barrel.

    Installing tips on wooden ramrods...........

A 1/16 brass rod stock is great for pinning rod tips. Drill a 1/16 hole cross ways through the rod top and wood rod. Counter sink both hole in the tip very slightly. Cut the brass rod so it protrudes about 1/16 on either side of tip. Assemble wood rod and rod tip with application of some epoxy...

    Wad carrying?

I store oil soaked wads in a jar. Glass or plastic, it doesn’t matter, plastic works better on the range when working up a load. When I take the wads out hunting, I put several in an Altoids tin and put in my shot pouch. Works great. You can Japan the tin so it doesn’t look so modern.

Can anyone supply a list of states where a BP gun must go to an FFL holder?

New Jersey has a new law that outlaws any gun, BB guns, muzzleloaders included, unless the gun bears a serial number that has been imprinted by a federally licensed firearms manufacturer. It’s a far reaching law that will probably be challenged I’d it hasn’t been already.

Can anyone supply a list of states where a BP gun must go to an FFL holder?

It is confusing in NY. My reenacting group would not go to NY to do any events last fall to present because of the new gun laws. The new laws redefined any muzzleloader to be in the same definition as a modern firearm. This change affected the possession laws regarding sensitive areas which are...

Can anyone supply a list of states where a BP gun must go to an FFL holder?

You may have to check state by state, to determine if a muzz needs to go through an FFL for transfer. There are some state that have such laws, but from my research, and it’s still ongoing, most don’t. Because a company won’t ship to a state unless through an FFL, does not mean it’s that...
