    A New surprise issue for an old flint shooter

    Remove frizzen spring and try it that way for 10 shots or so... That spring is only need to keep it closed so you don't lose your priming powder. IF the hard ness is right it will ignite primer every time. I suspect frizzen spring is too stiff and it is eating flints...

    Moulded bullets came out undersized.

    My renegade love this bullet. The mold needs to be hot, though. I usually throw back the first 10 or so to be recast if they look rounded. By that time the mold is stinking hot and they cast great.

    I never shoot round balls either, in vintage shotguns-as the walls are so thin. Like you said, it puts a lot of stress on the wood. Usually shotguns stocks are less robust, too. That's why they made rifles. :)

    Yeah. They don't go nuts if you put a yellow flag in the pan with the frizzen closed over it either. It makes them feel good and comfy.
