    Fun lock from India (eBay)

The punch took only a light tap. It was dirt and corrosion holding it in place. Cleaned it up a little more. The whole face of the lock is uneven so I decided to quit after cleaning it up. Bring it true might cause some issue with the ****/tumbler fitment so it’s now just a lot smoother. Trigger...

    Fun lock from India (eBay)

This seems like the way. Made myself a wood block w cutout and will use general taps. I think it will tap loose - as I was moving it you can see some flex right there at the top where it’s ground. May come fairly easily. I’ll update post later today after messing with it a bit. Thank you for...

    Fun lock from India (eBay)

Another cheap eBay lock to play with. Needs the top jaw screw (1/4" believe it or not). The hammer screw threads off but the shaft from the tumbler is stuck to the hammer (possibly from grinding) what is the best way to knock this loose. I really need to have it off to clean up the lock plate...

    Auction purchases

Any ideas? Cost me under 5 clams to purchase and have shipped and I’m more than pleased. The mega Fowler is cool as hell. Anyone know of its worth trying to remove and replace the old nipples or just clean and send it? Phil

    CVA half ****

Old thread but this happened to mine here is a pic with it removed from the stock at “half ****”. It’s not engaged in the notch. My guess is that it’s binding. Now place the lock on half **** and it won’t go back into the inlet. So I’ll smoke it tomorrow and sort out where is binding and carve...

    Jukar project arrives

Howdy all! The Jukar percussion pistol arrived. It’s pretty cool. As expected lots of this and that imperfection which makes it a perfect practice piece. The trigger has an interesting modification. Worked perfectly fine so it stays just as it is. Half **** works fine. It is in the white and...

I don’t know much about these at all so wondered if I could get some help. I think it was a 3 band Enfield that was sporterized. Is it worth offering...

Round barrel Kentucky style pistol q’s

https://www.muzzleloadingforum.com/threads/jukar-spain-45-cal-pistol-155.178197/ Pics in that post. Says its rifled. Ooh is see a pic of said front sight. That could work and would be easy enough to resolder if it needed tweaked. Thanks!!

Round barrel Kentucky style pistol q’s

Howdy all! Just purchased a Jukar .45 cal Kentucky style pistol from a fellow forum member. This appears to be an unfinished kit gun - percussion with a round instead of octagon barrel. It has no sights on the barrel. Most of the sights that would look right require me to cut a dovetail which I...

Bluing and browning recipe Q (Angier book)

lol I make my own propellant and percussion caps so if there’s a list I’m certain I’m already on it. Add to that I have a bit of tint and racially ambiguous (half Filipino) so post 9/11 I had lots of “random” step outs at airport security. Why I travel clean shaven these days 😂.

Welcome Dave! I'm 1 state over in WV. I'm not retired but also a new BP fan. I also plan to build a flintlock. I can tell you that Kibler Long Rifles in OH is the way I have been pointed and everything I have seen suggests thats the way to start. Prob going to be $1500 or so in the rifle and...

Bluing and browning recipe Q (Angier book)

Howdy all, I have been pouring over Angier’s book and have a few different bluing and browning solutions that I want to try and I’ve been able to source quite a few chemicals. I am not using any Mercury compounds. One compound is Spirit of Nitre which is a 3-5% ethyl nitrite - 95% ethanol...
