    Flint/frizzen relationship?

Too long? It's already 3/16" from the frizzen. You can see where it's striking the frizzen, if I move it back it will strike below half way down and I was lead to believe it should strike at 3/4 to 2/3 of the way up?

    Flint/frizzen relationship?

It's okay, for now, as long as it goes bang! Before I look up to see where the deer went.

Hell no! I am only 65!

    Keeping your powder dry

I have to be honest and say, in all fairness, that I am one of those people who finds mistakes in nearly every movie I watch. The car that just rolled 10 times and then is brand new in the next scene. The guy who is wearing different clothes in the same scene. The guy who shoots 14 times with...

    Flint/frizzen relationship?

Okay, after some work, here are my answers to the above questions and my findings. This gun only has one trigger. The gun has no recommendation for flint size but I can tell you if I shim the bottom of the flint to produce a steeper angle of impact, it requires that the flint be moved forward...

Yep, Clint played Rowdy in Rawhide. I thought we were talking about directors, not actors? Actors do what directors/producers tell them to do.

    Flint/frizzen relationship?

Thanks! I am finding that this gun, while it meets my immediate need, is really junk. I think strides have been made to correct previous problems because I do not have the problems pointed out in videos from 3-5 years ago. I have a sneaking suspicion that this might be the result of the...

I'm not sure how Clint "made mistakes" by acting? The spaghetti western trilogy was the kick-start to Clint's career. Do you think he should have refused the role because the director/producer had an anachronism in the movie?

    Flint/frizzen relationship?

Thanks guys! I am going to look into each and every one of these things. Let me ask another question, is it possible for the Flint to be too sharp? It appears my Flint is making a gouge at the point of first Contact which could be hampering its smooth movement down the frizzen.

    Flintlocks and Black Powder

I wish I had the money to shoot for hours like I used to. I would love to experiment with flintlocks so I could figure out what works best.

    Keeping your powder dry

I remember sitting in the theater and wanting to leave I was so disgusted. The guy next to me overheard the conversation between me and my girlfriend and said "oh wait, he will probably pull out an electric Gatling gun and a stun gun next". 🤠

I would think that such a gross misrepresentation of the time period that represents the passion here would be despised? And yes, The Good the Bad and the Ugly was one of the first movies Clint Eastwood acted in.

    Drying damp powder

I don't know if it's appropriate to ask someone how they make their own powder, but I would like to know if it is a major process?

Most of Clint Eastwood's movies are pretty darn accurate.

    Drying damp powder

Don't know anything about freeze drying. But I do know that silica beads are amazing Moisture Control items. I know people, including myself, who have tens of thousands of dollars worth of cigars which are maintained at a set humidity for years and years. Silica beads are also used to control...

    Keeping your powder dry

Granted, almost all movies cross the line with ignorance and stupidity on the part of the director. They believe reality is boring. The Revenant crossed the line further than most, and there's no reason for such blatant ignorance in the making of a movie.

    Flint/frizzen relationship?

Thanks! I don't understand what you mean by the underlined comments? I will definitely polish the frizzen. When I put a shim under the back of the flint, it rotates the fflint down and away from the frizzen, and then there is not enough flint for the jaws to hold securely.

    Keeping your powder dry

I will humbly disagree. He is trying to survive in extreme cold and he jumps in the river wearing every stitch of clothing he owns ....... instant death sentence. If the director had half a brain, he would have known that showing him build his fire, get butt naked and jump in, and come out...
