Kibler SMR 40 caliber put through the paces!

Pick up some Danglers browning solution, follow the instructions and it'll come out great. I used ferric nitrate crystals to stain my maple stock, then Minwax satin poly for the finish. Pretty painless to work with.

    Killer Wax

I had a garden this year for the first time in many years. When my sweet corn was making pollen, it was full of bees. Even as deaf as I am I could hear the buzzing. I don't remember bees being in my corn years ago when I had gardens.

    Light loads

I'm going to shoot 25 grains for a bit when practicing offhand, for punching paper it should be fine.

Think I'm in a small pickle...

I'd drill another hole centered between the two. Then use a short screw in the one on the toe end and longer screws in the other two.

    Tap and Die Set

I have a large set up to 3/4" and a small set up to 1/2". The small set is Mac, they've been good taps.

    My amature made gallery.

Great job! For me the most fun is figuring it out, then making and putting it to use. Sometimes we forget that "I can't" never did anything, but "I can" can do anything.

    Light loads

After reading here about some folks shooting light loads, I decided to try some in my .40. It was a beautiful day here today, so I got everything out and set up the shooting bench. The rifle I built earlier this year, .40 caliber, 42" straight 7/8" Rice barrel, large Siler percussion with a...

    My Little Ball Bag

I did some shooting today and used the little bag. I put 100 balls in it and think it'll hold another 100, or maybe more. With the flat bottom it stands up nice on the bench and is flexible enough to make getting balls out easy.

Great job of saving those bees. My brother and I have bees, at least he does, all of mine swarmed and left. I approach bees like a woman, you need to check their mood before you mess with them. I’ve seen days where I could walk through the bee yard and they don’t seem to know you’re there...

    My Little Ball Bag

I'd been rubbing around on the idea of making a ball bag for a bit now, so I did. It's not very big, my balls aren't large, not small either, .40 caliber, so kind of middle size. Since I have smaller balls I made a smaller bag, I'm guessing it'll hold 150 or so. It doesn't follow any period, so...

    My First Ball Bag

The internet is a fickle creature. I get a kick out of folks who tear down others work but don't show theirs. It's not limited to this forum, its anywhere that you can make or fabricate your own items. Keyboard critics, IMHO their opinion (as well as mine) is worth what it costs. I have a...

    Cemetery guns

Nice TX200, I have a lefty in .177. I wonder if Pyrodex would be more effective than black powder in one of those cemetery guns? :dunno: 🤣

Why not contact Green Mountain and ask if they sell unmarked barrels to retailers?

    Missouri Lead

If it was civil war era, why would it be painted? I wonder if it's a weight from an old piece of farm equipment?
