220 or 320 for barrel browning prep ?

I used 320 with Danglers to brown my .40, no issues at all.

    Bummer 10-Year-Old Remington Caps Today

I've never liked Remington ammo, rifle or shotgun. The caps were sold to me as a favor when caps were pretty much unobtainable. I was just happy to have something to shoot my new build with.

wisdom vs. experience... or, today I learned...

I recently learned that if you remove the lock from your percussion rifle only put it on half ****. Because if you **** it and aren't careful how you handle it while removing, you can trip the sear. The **** will fall, and it can mash your finger. The nail will turn purple just like it was hit...

I went to an enactment last fall and there was a guy there selling all kinds of leather.

Patch lube for round ball shooting..........Lawdy.

I tried the Water/ballistol dry patch and the fouling was horrible and hard to get out. Even wiping with a single damp patch after every shot I'd have to I'd have to use two or three wet patches to clean it after six or eight shots. I started using coconut oil and still wipe after shot, now my...

    Bummer 10-Year-Old Remington Caps Today

I bought four tins of Remington caps from a friend last spring, several didn't have any priming material. I don't recall seeing any foil though. Some people have commented about having misfires with recently produced CCI caps. I've fired over two tins of them without a single misfire.

Your math works just like mine.

    New to Casting bullets

Wow, very cheap lead, about $.08 per pound? I bought 200 pounds back in the summer, figuring a 5% loss for scrap, it'll cost me $.84 per 100 just for the lead. Still way better than $10 a hundred for Hornady balls. 👍

How Far Can You Make Successful Kill Shots ?.

Truth. There is a local guy here that has probably killed more deer with a .22 rifle than 90% of the hunters will ever take. Yes, he was an outlaw and I'm in no way condoning shooting deer with a .22 rimfire. Learn your rifle, learn your capability and stay within your ability to make a clean...

    Bullet starters?

My ball starter came in a CVA shooting kit almost 40 years ago. It's just a round wood ball, with a Barss nib to start the ball in the muzzle and a 4" piece of brass rod to drive it short.

    Weighing Swaged Round Balls

This is why I weigh my .40" home cast balls. I've been a lifelong gear head and build my own engines, transmissions and do all of my fabrication. I could build the engine and get it running, then leave it untuned. Afterall it is running.......... right? I don't do that, I tune them to their...

I need advice on vincent ohio rifle

My Pecatonica kit took a bunch of work to complete, all the inletting was small. I'm fine with that and I had fun doing it. I've never seen a Kibler, but from the photo's seen here all the inletting is finished and ready to assemble and shoot if you didn't want to put a finish on the wood or...

    Blowing down the barrel

Is that a yankee newt of a southern newt? BTW, what’s the best 2F load in a .36 for long range elk? Asking for a friend.

    Blowing down the barrel

    Right after firing, before loading.

    Blowing down the barrel

It could have the same effect as castor oil, might loosen everything up, LOL. I'd rather sip the bourbon while wiping with the Ballistol. :)
