    My Kibler SMR is shipping

Get a damp rag and wipe the stock. It’ll make the grain pop for you so you can get an idea about it. Very nice.

Pros and Cons of Carrying a Flat Powder Horn

I use a flat horn as a secondary. It’s a pocket horn to me. When hunting in a scenario where I need just a few reloads max I’ll put a few balls and a piece of patching in my front pocket and a flat horn in my back pocket and away I go. No downside in that scenario. In a varmint, bird, squirrel...

    How you clean

Ballistol and water for me too boys. Quick and easy. I use bear grease or similar if the gun will be setting for a week or two and Barricade if she’ll sit indefinitely.

    Where's Bob?

Hey fellers. So, I recovered from the Carpal Tunnel surgery just fine and then turned around and was told I had Prostate Cancer. Surgery scheduled for June 1st. As you can imagine it took the wind out of my sails being only 49yo and no history of cancer in my family. I’m sure its Government...

    Which Kibler rifle and caliber?

.58 is the lightest Colonial as is the .45 SMR. Both are awesome. I’ve also owned a .36 SMR which is a very finely balanced varmint rifle. .40’s are flat shooting and make awesome target guns as well as Coyote rifles. I’d think application and the style that speaks to me and build my gun around...

    Wacky Shooting

    Argument Time

I’ve found a larger internally coned touch hole, fine pan powder, a fast lock, and a properly hardened frizzen usually answer. When one of those are missing, I fiddle with it, as no two scenarios with one of those out of whack seem to prefer the same bandaid. Some like more powder, some less...

    WANTED Game Bag

Member James Rogers here (Capt James?) is the guy to talk to. He’s studied and reproduced most of the early game bags. He's a foremost expert IMO. He’s also a member of ALR and CLA. His Facebook ‘James Rogers Reproductions and Creations’ is worth checking out.

    What did you do today

I’m fairly adept at puzzling folks. I have three in that pasture protecting the goats and for some reason they love hanging out under the pole. I see them looking up at the flags all the time. Any time I raise a new flag they all have to get a sniff. I guess the waving and popping confuses them.

    What did you do today

Hooked up the tiny camper for a long weekend of fishing and reeelaxing on Dale Hollow Lake by the TN/KY border. And put up a new Bonnie Blue by the gate for the *****. Got my second Moderna COViD shot yesterday and am suffering the consequences.

Kibler Southern Mountain rifle kit and supplies arrived. It's going to be a fun build.

Going fairly well. Had a health issue pop up and knock the wind out of my sails that I’ll be handling on June 1st with a bit of a recovery after. I hope to have a few videos out this month.

Also considering quitting due to >>>

I considered quitting eating when my wife put us on Keto. Of course the upside of putting good stuff in my belly along with the wife telling me to quit snarling at everyone eventually overcame my irritation at watching the folks at the table next to me eating all those French Fries....

    What did you do today

Did you have an RP? Just got my biopsy back. Gleason 6 with 6/12 @50%. A Rotorootering is in my very, very near future......

Flintlock Addiction, is there any hope?

Precisely. And it was meant as a double entendre as flintlocks will stretch the old budget thinner and thinner.....

Flintlock Addiction, is there any hope?

You have crossed the Event Horizon and will be stretched thinner and thinner as you spin in circles around the singularity, until, hopefully many years from now, and oh so very close to the center of the black hole, you will suddenly hear a loud flushing sound.....and with any luck you’ll pop...
