    L&r lock on tc

Personally, I like the L&R, thought there was nothing wrong with the traditions lock. I do like the trigger pull on the L&R, and over all I think that the L&R, is a bit smoother, but again this is all personal preference. The only thing about the L&R, is that you will have to remove alot of...

    Traditions Kentucky Flintlock help

So, after completing the Hawken Gemer, and seeing how wonderful the Homer Dangler stain with true oil turned out, i decided that i am going to re-finish the Traditions Kentucky. Actually I really am looking forward to the project. May begin sanding now, but probably won't get to the nitty gritty...

    My Hawken Gimmer

Thank you for the complement! I used homer dangler stain, the color I chose is reddish brown. I used one cotton ball, and made passes with the full length with the grain. Once the entire stock was evenly covered I let dry for two hour, and touched up light spots with a tiny bit of stan applied...

    My Hawken Gimmer

Thank you for the compliments! It's a 50 cal... I prefer flintlock over caplock, yet I am thinking of doing another kit in caplock. They are handsome, they feel right the Hawken rifles. Robust and hefty. Best Ryan

    My Hawken Gimmer

Nice caliber... its a strait forward process. Just make sure that the metal is clean and dry. Use a degreaser, and wear gloves. And don't allow the bluing agent to dwell for to long. Ohh, yes, oil it after its final application. Once you reached the desired appearance, rinsed and dried it, oil...

    My Hawken Gimmer

Thank you for the compliment, it actually looks nicer in person.. for bluing the furniture, i used Birchwood Casey perma blue, and for the barrel I used Birchwood Casey super blue. I just washed the parts and the barrel in dawn dish detergent and then dried. I then used the Birchwood Casey...
