    Help identifying this old barrel

I really dont think they used screws to hold sights in the 1800’s? I realize that may have been cobbed later, but Im not seeing any dovetails either. Id lean to it being more on the modern side.

    Bored out pedersoli?

Ive got a few pedersoli’s and havn’t found anything wrong with any of them. Why do you feel that you need to bore yours out? If the .50 bore is good, its probably more cost effective to sell your rifle and buy what you want.

    SOLD CVA Frontier Maple Stock

you’re right. I had just sold a frontier but it had a 24” barrel. I had no idea they made both carbines and rifles. Im assuming this stock has the wrong lock in it rather than being poorly inletted.

    SOLD CVA Frontier Maple Stock

Maple stock with 15/16 barrel channel. Complete with hardware as shown. Im thinking it has the wrong lock, moreso than being inletted badly. This is from an early CVA kit that the original owner did not complete or do a great job of inletting, but put a finish on the wood. Its all from the late...

SOLD Early CVA Frontier 28” .50 Barrel

Heres an early (I beleive USA) in the white .50 barrel for the CVA Frontier. It was in a kit and the original owner started it, but never got it completed. It will need some work, drawfiling, bluing or browning, and a front sight. The bore is unfired and exc condition. $150

T/C Renegade: Another “damaged in shipment” story…

All you guys using UPS, what you going to do if/when UPS checks contents? As far as I know, that outfit strictly forbids shipping any firearms, antique, muzzleloader, or modern. That leaves USPS as the only option.

Replacement lock for traditions hawken woodsman

It looks like you will need to get a dremel or similar and dish out the powder area in the lock. Be sure you dont mess up the mating surface between that and the frizzen, only grind the bowl deeper.

    Double.45 questions

Walnut can vary a lot in color and texture, depending on the region it came from, which side of a hill it grew on, if air dried or kilned, if logs were sawn fresh or sat a while, old or second growth, etc. etc. European walnut is also different as is claro.

    Double.45 questions

Id think your wood is walnut, and it was built in the later 1900’s. Other than that, all I can say is that it looks nicely done and should be fun to shoot. Hopefully your state allows a double for ml hunting season.
