    Lubricated wads versus non-lubricated wads

He asked about "lubricated wads or non-lubricated wads that is the question and what is best for storing cap and ball Revolvers for long periods of time". I answered that question. Now get lost.

    Lubricated wads versus non-lubricated wads

I stand by my statement that I would not consider a muzzle loader for self defense. I have no reason to, as I can use a semi-auto pistol firing metallic cartridges.

    Lubricated wads versus non-lubricated wads

No wads at all for me. Powder, ball, and a little lube over that. That combo has been shown to last for well over 100 years. My favorite lube is beeswax/Crisco mix. I would not consider a muzzle leader for self defense.

    New Arkansas Reg: “Alternative weapons”

My guess is that there are too many deer, and they want to lower the population. I'm all for that. The type of firearm doesn't matter to me.

    Birchwood Caseys Perma Blue

Nothing beats rust blue for beauty, durability, and rust resistance. Second place would be hot dip caustic bluing. All cold blues are very close to being the same thing (according to Brownell's). They will color the metal for a little while. They offer NO rust protection, and I am convinced...

Civil War era Remington questions from a first time owner

A barrel to cylinder gap of 0.014" is excessive, but not unsafe to shoot. However, it should be corrected to a proper gap. That Ballistol lubricant you already have is probably the best possible lubricant that can be used, in my experience. The gun is safe to fire, in my opinion. Before...
