    “Woods Runner”

Once you get that far I may bug you again to see what you did do. Thanks for being the guinea pig on this so to speak. Ive not ever built one before so as you can imagine Im very curious just like a bunch of other people how it will go for the first one to be assembled. Im really considering...

    “Woods Runner”

Thanks for the pictures. Looks like to me all it needs is some final sanding. I dont think a file on that would be necessary. Is that a fair observation?

    Correct Flint size?

Mr Snake I use these and they work good for me. I do also have some agate flints that I had from the past. Currently I am using those and have had good success with them. I have shot almost a 100 rounds on one end of the first one I have used. I have the L&R lock so I cant say what life would...

So I found this box leaning against the garage...SMR Build

Jim makes that filing look easy in his youtube videos. But when you have done as much as he has he knows exactly which file to use and how to use it. Unlike this rookie at polishing out brass. Ive polished out many a semi truck wheel with a buffer but not many butt plates on guns. Are you going...

    Protecting metal under the wood?

Mr Snake I use to do that also with the Hawkens. I now use one of those nipple fittings to tubing for cleaning. It works great. I also use a turkey baster to fill the barrel with soap and water. I have been doing it this way now for several years with great results. Thats why I dont remove the...

    Protecting metal under the wood?

I don’t remove barrels at all from any of my guns including the Hawkens that I own. Just don’t see the need to do that.

58 Kibler colonial smoothbore lets see them

The same for me 6 inch steel plates. The range I shoot at has 12,10,8,6, and 4 hanging at 50. Then there is a turkey at 75. There are some at 100 also that are 12 inch along with a Buffalo.

58 Kibler colonial smoothbore lets see them

My main concern with a smoothie was being able to consistently kill steel at 50 to 75 yards. I probably would not ever use any shot in it. I kinda wanted one because I dont have one currently and I see @B P Maniac Shooter how much fun he has with one shooting all kinds stuff he can find to...

58 Kibler colonial smoothbore lets see them

Thanks I did see some weights there but wondered if those were for the other Colonial calibers and that the smoothbore might be a little lighter

An unfair comparison between Kibler Colonial and trade guns??

Lyman .50 cal Great Plains pistol

Yes the load just like a rifle does. But 50 grains in a 50 cal will be over what Lyman recommends. You also stand a chance of cracking the stock. 20 to 30 is a good load for all around shooting.
