Fair asking price? TC Hawken kit

I think with that said, it will just stay in the stable and get used for hunting. Shoots too good to part it out and I don’t need the money that bad. Just have too many similar rifles and could benefit from a larger caliber rifle. I’m in no hurry. My boy will like it for deer season.

Pictures of my restored 45cal TC Hawken.

I took some better photos and added them to my original post of the weathered and worn TC Hawken 45cal that my brother gave to me. Thought I’d put them in a separate post because we all like pictures. I took it to the range yesterday, but by the time I got my Renegade dialed in with the load I...

TC Hawken Great Plains Conical Fit

Thank you! Good luck you you as well. That is a real nice rifle. Nothing wrong with a 54 Hawken, but that Kibler Colonial raises the bar. I’ve been drooling over those for awhile. I’m half tempted to sell off some and put the money towards one. Some day!!!

    SHARON MUZZLE LOADER

I’ll tell ya, after hiking in the crunchy, squeakiest snow today, I would have gladly settled for a tree stand. Haha. I enjoy spot and stalk, but when thinks are too crunchy to be quiet, a tree stand sounds real good. Your Sharon rifle was a great find. Good luck on your hunt.

TC Hawken Great Plains Conical Fit

I have tried them with really good results. Unfortunately the place I was buying them can’t source them anymore because the guy who was casting the bullets passed away. I wonder if the ones you had weren’t a little harder than pure lead. They did great in my really tight bore Renegade. I have 5...

Fair asking price? TC Hawken kit

I have a nice TC Hawken 50cal. I’m not sure what a fair price would be to ask for it. It was a kit and was put together very nicely. Somebody bent the hammer for use with a scope and drilled and tapped the barrel for scope mounts. There is some minor pitting a few inches from the muzzle...

TC Hawken Great Plains Conical Fit

I have a 50cal Hawken and a 50cal Renegade. The Hawken barrel is a bit looser than the renegade. The GP bullet fits the Hawken a bit easier, but the Renegade is real chore. I almost made a post about this last night after yesterdays range session. I have to really smack my short starter to get...

    Loaded for 30 Years

The only thing I’d be concerned with is making sure there isn’t a crud ring down by the breach. Not from being fired, but the possibility of moisture being drawn from the atmosphere. Even then, unless kept in a moist environment, rust is probably minimal due to have a bullet or PRB sealing one...

    Free TC Hawken 45cal

Well, one kid tried to cut his finger off and had to go to the doc, the other one stayed home sick. No hunting or range time for me today, so I decided to get some better pics outdoors of this rifle with a real camera.

    Range Report...Pedersoli Frontier .50 cal@50 yds

Good shooting. For load development, I shoot from a bench to find the most accurate and consistent load. Once I have the particulars for that rifle figured out and have settled on a load, then it’s free hand from there to make sure I can shoot it to the same POA. If I don’t, I know something is...

    My $250 Renegade

Thank you!!!! That’s good to know. If I get the chance to pick one up, I think L&R makes a lock for it. I was just curious. I’ve heard similar reports about the Lyman GPR Locks. I have both the Renegade and the GPR with percussion locks. I tend to grab the Renegade most days. It just fits me...

    My $250 Renegade

Are the locks decent on the Renegade flinters? I have been dreaming of picking one up to go with my cap.

Oh wow! After writing my response I realized this thread is 8 years old. Haha

CVA Hawken Trigger not working right

I had a used CVA Hawken for a bit. I had the same issue and discovered that the arm that comes off the sear on the lock is really weak. It bends upwards with use. I bent it back straight and made sure I had good engagement. Never had another problem with it. I don’t think that part got...
