    Homemade powder test

I need to learn how to do this. I also need to get a flinter for when the cap shortage returns. Congratulations on your success!!!

Chrono results for Pedersoli Blue Ridge in .54

I must need to get a new eyeglass prescription, I wouldn’t even be able to see those targets at 100yds. Lol. Good shooting!!!!!

That is a dandy!!!! It has a lot of character! Congratulations!!! That one will be really hard to beat!

I’d love to see it. Congratulations!!! I have until dark on Dec 1st for a bull. Then there is a cow season for 7 days in the next unit over. I went out today for a few hours but it was dumping snow and didn’t want to get too committed. It was a mess out there. Didn’t see anything moving...

CLOSED looking for a Lyman Great Plains rifle

What sights did you put on that rifle? Looks way better than the stock sights. I put a Lyman flip down buckhorn and front bead on mine. I don’t like the fact that my sight flips down while hunting. I go to take a shot and see the sight flipped down. Not good when seconds count. Lol

I have yet to take a wolf, but when I was hiking the other day, I was thinking how awesome it would be to get one with a muzzleloader.

Sorry, I didn’t notice the question mark. Yes, it’s a Renegade in 50cal. I put this one together from a kit last fall. Browned the hardware and barrel. 😀

    Starting charge and Hunting Charge

I stay away from brushes in closed breach rifles except for very rare situations. They work great in inlines, but after getting several brushes stuck over the years in my rifles, I stay clear. They are a real pain to get out. A cleaning jag and patches is all you need to keep your rifle in tip...

    Gifted Flinter

Beautiful rifle. I am sorry for the loss of your friend.

    Starting charge and Hunting Charge

You can search this sight for instructions on how to inspect your patches also to ensure that you are using the proper patch for your bore. A good tight patch will look almost like you can reuse it. A patch that is too loose will either burn up completely, or will show where gases are getting...

    Starting charge and Hunting Charge

Nice rifle! I haven’t seen many CVA Kentucky rifles. Great rifle at a really great price. Your most accurate load is probably going to be in the neighborhood of 70gr. Start at 50gr and work up shooting 5 shot groups. Some do 3 shots, but 5 gives room for shooter error and flyers. You may find...

    Thompson Center Set Trigger setting?

That adjustment screw is supposed to adjusted with the rifle at half ****. This relieves pressure and allows the screw to turn. If it was adjusted with hammer down, there is a good possibility that it has been stripped, as was mentioned above. If you put the hammer in the half **** position...

Went back out and hiked the hill today after church. I learned a lot about this country today and now I’m ready for a nap. Lol. The wind was unreal. We had snow last night and this morning, then the winds came in behind and blew the storm out. I didn’t see anything out in that wind and I...

No, just my muzzleloader. I’m sure some game wardens would understand why, but I expect to run across the guy who’s itching to give a citation. It may not be anything to be concerned about, but then again, it may. In my experience, so far, wolves don’t want anything to do with humans. The cats...

    Close, but no cigar!

I have a tag, but never see them when I’m hunting. Go figure! One of these days I’ll figure out what I’m doing. I’d really like to get in to a trappers course and get serious about trapping them. Would be a lot of fun, another excuse to be in the woods, and might earn a little money in the...

    The experiment.

That sounds like a fantastic day! Congratulations!! I really need to find a smoothie. I was at Cabela’s today and they had a Pedersoli that I wanted to look at. I have no idea what gauge it was. After about 30 minutes of watching employees run everywhere, except to offer help, I walked away...
