    Kibler SMR lock and flints

I get more sparks from the French amber but my English black flints seem to last longer. Careful knapping will give me a minimum of 75 shots,,, if I do my part. When I first started using flintlocks I was satisfied with 50 or so shots but as I learned more from "doing" and learning from experts...

These numbers are how far they ran after being shot with the roundball. Most of my shots are at about 40 yards distance from me... some closer,,some more far away. None farther than 130 yards if my memory is functioning today.

    Targets; Opinions wanted

I use archery targets at the 100 yard mark. Work very well because of the size and coloration I glue cardboard to them so the holes are sharp edged.

    Greetings from Wyoming!

Both good friends of mine. AJ lived 2 blocks from me. Learned more from them than I can even remember. AJ and I and a couple other friends started the first Hunter Safety in Shoshoni. Literally tore my heart out when they passed. Both giants in muzzleloading in not only Wy but nationwide.

    Why .40 cal?

In Wy the .40 is minimum for deer and antelope. 50 for bigger game.

Ever shoot a stuck ball...what happened?

Tried the grease method , grease gun would not stay connected. Even took it to a regular mechanic who hooked it up to his hi pressure grease gun. Still would not stay on the zerk. Finally gave up,, the grease just kept creeping around the zerk and never moved anything in the barrel.
