    Last Powder for a While

I got my 10# of 2F OE, still waiting on the 4# of 3F. For some reason it did not come in same box, but they said it has shipped, but was supposed to be here yesterday... I will have to call on Monday again.

    Graf has 3f

I put this same thing on wrong topic,,, but I just got confirmation that the powder has shipped so I'm good to go for a while. I generally would not buy that amount of powder, but with the uncertainty of Goex and unmentionables in the state of our union I needed some comfort knowing I'd be set...

    Goex powder @ Buffalo Arms

Just got confirmation that the powder has shipped so I'm good to go for a while. I generally would not buy that amount of powder, but with the uncertainty of Goex and unmentionables in the state of our union I needed some comfort knowing I'd be set for a while. Seeing $125 for a 525 rounds of...

    Goex powder @ Buffalo Arms

All my powders are stored in a steel cabinet in what they are shipped in. I don't think you are getting any more protection in a cooler, could probably have it filled with water and it would be ok as long as cap is secure... My primers are stored differently, in plastic bags with desiccants.

    Goex powder @ Buffalo Arms

Blame the feds, their restrictions on carrying BP is almost impossible to meet. Even Cabelas/Bass Pro don't even bother anymore.

    Goex powder @ Buffalo Arms

You are lucky to have a place that still has black powder near you. I am unaware of anyone in the state of Wisconsin that carries it anymore, definitely nobody in SE WI . I'm at the mercy of the internet and haz fees...

    Graf has 3f

I have 10 lbs of FF and 4 lbs of FFF coming from Graf's if the dang order goes through...

    Goex powder @ Buffalo Arms

Yeah, but better than mixing up some saltpeter, charcoal and sulfur and hoping for the best!

    Goex powder @ Buffalo Arms

Just got email that Graf's has Old Eynsford 2F back in stock they also have 1.5F, 3F and 4F. I got 10 lbs to put me in smoke for a while and make the shipping/haz fee more tolerable... Hopefully the order sticks!!!

    Chambers English Fowler

    Excellent, thanks.

    Chambers English Fowler

One thing I was going to ask and who better to ask than you... I just noticed that the Chambers kits come as pinned and not keyed, nor do they come with a hooked breech. It looks pretty straightforward to switch to band instead of pins if I go that route, but is it feasible to switch to a...

    Chambers English Fowler

Yes I will, for entertainment purposes if nothing else. I've been following yours as well, it's progressing nicely.

Yep, I already have those bookmarked, Dave!

    Chambers English Fowler

Well after exactly one year from ordering I received my English Fowler from Chambers. Which is fine, after it was delayed and wasn't able to be a winter project I told Barbie there was no hurry as it won't get touched until this winter anyway. They graciously did not charge me for wood...

    Finished Kibler Colonial #2.

Absolutely, they are essentially perfect. Like I said, not really a knock and not meant to be a cut on Kibler's, they are top notch. But not everyone is an artist, so a lot of them tend to come out looking the same.

    Finished Kibler Colonial #2.

That is a beautiful rifle and wonderful color. The one knock (and it's really not a knock) is that most all Kibler's look the same, you've made yours unique and it works!

    A fowler I acquired

Why the triple post on same gun?

My next build Jim Chambers PA Fowler

Call me jealous! I've been waiting for my Chamber English Fowler since September, I guess a fancy chunk of walnut is hard to come by... Not a big deal, I told Barbie that since it didn't come last winter that I wouldn't get to it until next. She assured me that it would be a very nice...

    Woodcraft Vise

I like the bags boards storage, very clever... I did one gun without that vise and one with it. It saved me hours from trying to securely shim and clamp the stock in a standard vise.
