    Extreme trigger pull

Thanks for the info. I did adjust the tumbler screw inwards and the trigger now functions at an acceptable pull but the sear is now positioned on the tip of the tumbler in full **** notch instead of fully engaging the notch. I tried bumping the stock to see if the hammer would fall, it did not...

    Extreme trigger pull

It does, appears to be screwed fully up (out).

    Extreme trigger pull

Purchased my first flint lock yesterday, a DIkar .45 caliber long rifle, single trigger. Rifle is very clean, absolutely no corrosion including bore. This might make a good transition from percussion rifles except that the trigger pull is extreme, I am barely able to fire using tip of my index...

Another bird hunt and something new

Yep, our terriers are quite good at digging for vermin. The many holes in our yard are proof.

Another bird hunt and something new

It's funny how the subject of hunting dogs generates so many comments. I highly value the time afield with my dogs, the hunting is secondary. Even my non sporting breeds have become my hunting partners.

Another bird hunt and something new

Beautiful dog. A question about ML double shotguns. Do most of you guys shoot restored originals or replica guns? Looking to add one to my collection and not sure what to look for. Jeff

Another bird hunt and something new

Brits are great bird dogs. Mine is a year old this month. Had a male when I was a teenager that was a serious hunter. He would lock up on point while crawling under a log. I never seemed to need to use the whoa command. Jeff

    Good to be out...

Hello OldMaineWoods. Where are you at in Virginia? I went second Saturday of bow season in Pittsylvania county, underbrush was so thick I couldn't find my stand in the dark. Ending up hunting from my "picnic" spot and had a doe walk up behind me. My hunting partner let me know she was there...

    New from Indiana

Welcome from a fellow Hoosier now living in Virginia. I agree with Bassdog that Texas has great BBQ but Indiana has the best Pork Tenderloin Sandwiches.

    Bore condition

Hello all, Borescope picture of a .35 caliber percussion barrel breech area attached. Anyone have an opinion on the apparent fissure or crack at the 4 o'clock position? The muzzle end is very clean with good rifling, it's only the breech that shows a lack of rifling and the possible crack. Not...

    New member from Virginia.

Thomas, thanks for the welcome. I live in Hampton Roads but my hunting spot is South of Lynchburg. More deer there than squirrel but I still look forward to muzzleloader squirrel hunting. Peace and quiet if the squirrels don't show. Jeff
