    Just an opinion

Went out to our range after getting my mower running again. I need to use a wagon to take all five pistols (plus a .22 and a Ruger GP-100) along with gear to the range. Anyway, I digress. First time I had them all together and shot them all one after the other. And I found out that will I love...

    Taylor Uberti better than Uberti?

Funny my new 1861 Uberti Navy that I purchased from MidwayUSA came in a Taylor box and nice cloth pouch. I also asked EMF what the difference between purchasing from them and others and she told me by email that they back their product after purchase will most others do not. So if that is...

    Holsters for 1851 Colt?

I have two 1851 navy’s, an 1858 NMA, an 1860 Army and an 1861 Navy. I got all of them holsters either right hand or right hand cross draws from track of the wolf. I don’t think I paid over thirty dollars for any of them. And they are very nice.

    Shipping Percussion Revolver?

I just received my 1861 Navy from MidwestUSA on 09/20/2022 by USPS. So if things have changed it's been since then.

Colt 1860 Vs Remington New Model

I've got both and to be honest I personally much prefer the Colt. It just feels better in my hand and has better pointability. ( yeah I know that not a true word but it works). I replace all my nipples with SlixShots so I can't complain about jamming caps. I'd be happy to let you come over...

    Uberti or Pietta 1861 Navy?

I'll just point out. Uberti 1861 Navy barrel length 7.5inches. Pietta 1861 Navy barrel length 8.5inches. I looked at both but this was a deal breaker for me. I really don't want or need a 8.5 inch barrel on anything.

    Why no wooden Colt grips

Well I'm sure it's no shock to all of you but I just found out that the wood grip for an 1851 Uberti will not work on a 1851 Pietta. I did find a grip at Taylors and ordered it but I'm sure ?I'll be getting a next email telling me there are on backordered even though it says in stock.

    Why no wooden Colt grips

Thanks but Dixie has them and only wanted $13. Plus $7.50 for shipping. So for $21 a better price than I was expecting. I’m good.

    Why no wooden Colt grips

Well Taylor and co. lists grips for both Uberti and Pietta Navies and Army's. They are getting in some parts because I have received the rear and trigger straps for a Pietta in steel from them. But it does look like the grips are a very low priority for them to provide. I think I may use Phil...

    Why no wooden Colt grips

I've been trying to purchase a set of wooden grips for either Pietta or Uberti for over six months but no one has any. EMF doesn't even have any listed and Taylor & Co. always has them on backorder. Just wondered if anyone else is expereincing the same?

    Round Balls

I hope this okay, if not I won't feel bad if it gets deleted. So for those in the market for round balls I just bought 400 Hornady .375 round balls for $50 shipped to my door. Everyone else was wanting $14 to $17 oer one hundred plus shipping. But MidSouth Shooters had them for $8.56 per box of...

Please talk me out of a 1861 Navy

I wanted to correct what I said in the second sentence. It should have read that someone mentioned that Uberti used the same barrels. But on further examination I don’t think that’s so. The 1860 Army has an 8” barrel while the 1861 Navy has a 7.5” barrel. Both historic correct unlike Piettas...

    screwdriver set

Hello I'm looking for a good set of gunsmithing screwdrivers. I have a Chapman set and it works for most things but I'd like a dedicated screwdriver set. So far I've found a Grace set and a Foster set that may or may not be hollow ground. It appears the Foster's may be but there is a question...
