Please talk me out of a 1861 Navy

Just a bit of off the wall info. I measured the barrels because Uberti used the same barrels for the 1860 and the 1861 just bored different sizes. I think he was correct. The measurements I got were as follows: 1860 Pieta outside diameter .675 wall thickness .128 1861 Uberti outside diameter...

Please talk me out of a 1861 Navy

Yes I ordered one from MidwayUSA. Price was less than a Pietta which really surprised me. Didn't get free shipping on this one but the price was too good to pass on. Someone else who bought one said it was a Taylor and Co. so we'll see when it gets in. Pics will be coming. But of course with...

Please talk me out of a 1861 Navy

I just bought two revolvers an Uberti 1851 London Navy and a Pietta 1860 Army and thought I was good but I just say a Taylor and Company Uberti 18601 Navy on sale and I'm really thinking of buying it but just not sure I need another revolver. I also have an Pietta 1851 Navy and a Pietta 1858 NMA...

Pietta or Uberti, which should I buy?

I think it depends on which model of revolver you are looking to purchase more than which manufacturer. If you were looking to purchase an 1851 Navy I would recommend Uberti even with the short arbor issue because of the grip. The Uberti has a just much nicer feel to it. And if you were going...

Just got two new revolvers first impressions

I just bought a Uberti 1851 London Navy and had the same issue when putting the wedge in for the first time. Then read a LOT on this site about what could be wrong. For my 1851 I had to add two small stainless steel washer to the arbor hole. Now when I put the wedge back in and really pound it...

    Midway Traditions/Pietta 1860

First picture are the 1858 Remington and the 1860 Army both are Pietta's. The next picture is of my two 1851 Navy's the Uberti London is on top and the Pietta is on the bottom. The Pietta is a nice pistol but the Uberti just feels nicer in my hand, plus I like the looks of the London better.

    Midway Traditions/Pietta 1860

I just broke it down an went over it to deburr and inspect it and I must say I am impressed. I'm not sure what i expected I guess something similar to the 1858 but it isn't it so much more. It just fits the hand. I love the Uberti 1851 navy and the way it sets in the hand but this 1860 Army...

    Help I did it again

Well at present I have a 1851 Pietta Navy, a 1851 Uberti Navy London, a 1858 Pietta Remington and of course the above mentioned 18960 Pietta Army coming in soon. So this is what I have to say about the difference I can see. Of course I can only do a true comparison on the Navy's but I can speak...

    Help I did it again

Dang I just got a Uberti Navy London 1851 about a month ago and was happy and figured I was good. Then stupid MidwayUSA goes and has the Pietta 1860 Army for $279 with free shipping. Who in their right mind could pass that up. A new 1860 Army shipped for less that $300, I just couldn't help myself.
