    Priming with 3F

Sorry I didn't make myself clear. Yes I was planning on using 3f for both the main charge and the pan but what I wanted to know is what are people using to prime the pan? From what I read the "pan primers" work with 4f but I don't see any where that they will work with 3f. Or are people just not...

Newbie-long time shooter, have almost no muzzleloader experience

Howdy, and welcome. That was my first build also. It's a nice kit. Mine is very accurate. I was a little put off by the plastic sights but have found them to work quite nicely and see no reason to replace them at this time. Enjoy building it and shooting it.

    Idaho

My wife and I, when we were travelling would stay in Island Park at Hidden Valley Campground. We would spend our summers there. Loved it up there and can't wait to go back.

Do Slixshot nipples lessen cap jams in Colt style C&B?

I've got a Pietta 1851 Navy and I installed SlixShots and I don't have any issues cap jams like I did before installing them. I also polished the hammer face and de-burred the slot.

LYMAN GPR Users Unite and tell us your story

Bought mine in March 2021 from MidSouth Shooters for $687 it was a Lyman Signature Series GPR Kit. It is a .50 and so far I'm using 50 grains of Goex 3f with .490 RB and 0.015 ticking. Just got the Lyman 57 GPR sight and our range has been flooded so I haven't had the chance to sight it in. Used...

    Jerry Fisher Inletting Scraper

I'm looking to purchase an inletting scraper for when my Kibler SMR gets here. But I'm not sure which one would be best or do I need all three? The Octagon 1" x 1 1/16" or the round large 1" x 3/4" or the 1/2" x 5/8"? Or do I need all three? Thanks

    New Lyman sight

Okay so you did use the enclosed shim block? and did you use the target or hunting ring? The target is very small.

    New Lyman sight

Hello everyone I just got a new Lyman 57GPR sight and need to sight it in. So I was wondering at what range most people sight one of these in at. I normally sight in at 25yards for both BP and unmentionables and then re-sight in at 50yards but wasn't sure that is what I should be doing with this...

    TVM vs Kibler

If your goal is to build a rifle from a kit there are plenty out there, some good some just okay. Some look like authentic muzzleloaders, some not so much. But if you want an authentic looking good shooting, well thought out and nicely put together rifle then you should look no further than Mr...

    Ballistol

Funny my can of Ballistol says to use a mix of 25% Ballistol to 75% water for black powder cleaning. That's what I use and it seems to work just fine, but I real new to BP so I could be wrong.

    half **** after firing?

Please don't take this thread as typical of this forum. There is occasionally some back and forth and sometimes people get their feathers ruffled for no apparent reason that I can see. And there are a few people on the forum who seem to enjoy causing discord but for the most part you can not...
