    Found real GOEX locally.

I order it in 10lb or 20lb cases from Buffalo arms. Ends up being $26 or so per lb with shipping and hazmat. I normally sell a few pounds to friends to recoup some of my costs. If you can afford a $250 hit to order it in bulk it’s way cheaper. It doesn’t go bad. Order once and be good for years.

Jute fiber in bags is available on Amazon. It’s cheap. That’s where I get mine.

    Do You Remove Your Barrel?

Nope. Never. Coat the underside of the barrel with past wax, pin it and use it the rest of your life that way.

    Patch material for rifle ball

I tested extensively round patches vs square patches. Absolutely no difference in several different rifles. None. Its much easier to follow the lines and just cut strips and then squares. That cutting round patches is too tedious for my patience. A lot less waste of material also.

What is your favorite wax for your stock?

I use this like franks hot sauce. I put this s%#t on everything. Makes the stock look good, works great as patch lube and is one of the best rust preventatives I’ve ever used. I keep all my guns coated with it. Inside and out. This might open up a can of worms!

    Goex Back in Stock!

I still have a few pounds of older Goex (pre-shutdown). During the last couple years I’ve stocked up on about 25 lbs of schuetzen in different granulations. Been using it with good success. I’m curiously waiting to see what people are going to be saying about the “new” goex. We are all...

    Ball Size

I have have a dozen 44 cal BP revolvers. I have a .457 mold so that’s what I use in all of them. The difference in accuracy between a .457 and .454 is probably zero. You’re shaving the ball to chamber size regardless what size the ball is. I prefer bigger for a nice shaved ring when seating...

    Best common household lubricant?

Put it in a small squirt bottle. Spray your patch then squeeze out the excess so it’s not dripping. Load and shoot.

    Best common household lubricant?

-0 windshield washer fluid. Straight dish liquid, spit, windex. Anything wet works. I use the washer fluid for plinking and matches. Mink oil for hunting.

    Musket caps on Amazon.

I’m a big Amazon shopper. Very odd to see these on Amazon. $24 with free shipping also means the seller is bypassing hazmat shipping. I bought 1000 #11s from cabelas a couple weeks ago and after shipping they ended up being $16 a tin.

WOW..., SCAMMER SPOTTED AND GONE for now....

As hard as it is, I try to ignore anyone on a gun forum that starts babbling about their left wing ideaology. A gun forum is not a welcoming place for that whining and they know it. It’s all for attention.

"OLD STUB" Percussion Shotgun, A. Bennett London Identification

I have a Belgian double from the same time period in about the same condition. Mine is a measured 15 gauge. I use it for squirrels all the time. It has a mismatched hammer on one side but it’s one of my favorites for hunting and shooting.
