    SOLD Pedersoli Indian Trade Gun

Thanks. Yeah they are good guns. I use my Bess with shot way more than this one. I’ve gotten the black powder cartridge fever so I’m selling off a few that I don’t use to finance something new. I’ll have a few others maybe in a few days. Still debating on what I’m going to let go.

    SOLD Pedersoli Indian Trade Gun

I’m liquidating a few of my guns to pursue other interests. Here is my Pedersoli trade gun. 20ga. I’ve had it a few years since I bought it new. Factory crappy stock finish was removed and refinished in linseed oil. Sparks like a champ. Bore is bright and shiny as new. I dropped it while...

Has some safe queen blueing wear where it’s sat in the rack. Very very unnoticeable. Bores are bright and shiny as if new...

    Guesstimate my muzzle velocity?

Use this. Your pyrodex is most likely equivalent to Swiss 2F when calculating. https://www.p-max.uk/cgi-bin/black_powder.cgi

    Lead balls have casting imperfections

I load some pretty tight patched balls sprue up. After I whack the ball a few times with the short starter I can see that the sprue is pretty much flattened even before I ram it down the barrel with a range rod. Then the RB takes the force of a rearward explosion. I’d almost bet the sprue is...

Yes pure lead is the ticket.

    To clean or not clean??

There is no such thing as seasoning a steel barrel. That was a bore butter marketing gimmick. You season cast iron not steel. If your gun doesn’t shoot well with a clean bore then work up a load that does. That includes changing projectiles. Always clean your gun even when using triple 7. Do not...
