Schuetzen Powder Accuracy Test & Velocity

My renegade with 1:66 round ball twist barrel loves swiss 3F. Keep up the good work on YouTube I like watching your videos. You really squeeze every little bit of accuracy and performance that you can with the old front stuffer guns. ✌

.50 cal 250 grain Lee Real bullets

Bought a mold to cast Lee real bullets 250 grain .50 caliber. I haven't shot any other projectiles besides patched round ball out of my rifles. Im hoping the Lee real bullets will perform better at longer ranges 100 yards and beyond. I was shooting round ball on a very windy day recently and my...

    Barrel life PRB

I know it's impossible to put an exact number on it but how long will a barrel last when shooting mostly patched round ball before the rifling wears out and accuracy is diminished? Not something im particularly worried about with my BP firearms but just out of curiosity. I heard thompson center...

    Lock identification

My grandfather gave me an old percussion lock years and years ago before he passed away. Not sure if its for a rifle or pistol. Any information would be helpful, maybe I could use it for a project gun or something. It's in good working order and functional

    WANTED 1:66 round ball barrel

Searching for a 1:66 round ball twist barrel for Hawken 15/16ths. I have a renegade barrel that is 1:66 but its 1 inch and won't fit my Hawken stock.

Pressure difference betwen Swiss and Goex

Lyman BP manual lists load data for goex but not swiss. Swiss seems to be hotter than goex from what I've read. Been using 70 grains of Swiss 3F in my .50 cal hawken with patched round ball. It does kick a bit with that load but I can't imagine I'm coming anywhere near maximum pressure with that...

Swiss 3F in .50 cal rifles

I wish the barrels were interchangeable but the renegade is 1 inch and the hawken is 15/16ths the hawken stock fits me better and I shoot mostly just patched round ball

Swiss 3F in .50 cal rifles

I have a Thompson Center Renegade and a hawken both .50 cal, the Renegade has a 1:66 round ball twist and the hawken is 1:48. Swiss 3F works well in the Renegade barrel nice groups at 50 yards. Seems like it works well in then Hawken barrel as well but im curious about maximum load considering...

    New BP shooter here

Last year I bought a Thompson Center Renegade .50 cal with 1:66 round ball twist barrel as my introduction intro the muzzleloading world. Thinking about a shotgun/smooth bore muzzleloader to experiment with different projectiles. Anyways im fairly new here on this Forum just getting my feet wet.
